FIX WEST TEXAS' FINDER TO FOSTER PROGRAM Over the next few days, Fix West Texas will be asking residents to help the Midland Animal Shelter reduce intakes over the next few months in two ways: 1) When a City of Midland resident finds a stray animal or needs to rehome their current pet, contact Fix West Texas via email – [email protected] to join its Finder to Foster Program. This program allows our community to actively reduce shelter surrenders by being the pet's caretaker prior to adoption. 2) Fix West Texas will sign up as many fosters as possible to fill the gap for 1) animals picked-up by Animal Control officers and 2) residents who are unable to foster the animal. In these cases, please email Lori VanHoozer at [email protected] the pet's name, age, color, breed and a picture. She will arrange these "matches." Fix West Texas will do this as quickly as time allows. Fix West Texas appreciates the City of Midland agreeing to provide vouchers to cover the cost to spay/neuter for these animals prior to adoption.
