A valid addition to the mobility mix, without the naive promise of reducing the congestion problem. Nevertheless, the #archer midnight is a true beauty and we're very curious to see it go through #aerodynamic testing and make it all the way to public flights! So we ran an AirShaper analysis on a public model, just to get a (very) rough understanding of the airflow. The propellers aren't realistic at all, dimensions may differ in many locations from the real aircraft, but still - highly interesting to see the downwash of the propellers develop! #urbanairmobility #evtol #cfd #simulation

Li'l Blue and I are taking a few days off to do an owner-assisted annual inspection and have a couple of safety enhancements installed. We're leaving sweet home Alabama for Hamilton, OH to do our annual inspection and install a new Trio Pro Pilot autopilot and the AmSafe Aviation SOARS airbag system. Before I fly into any new-to-me airport, I like to visit it virtually by flying several simulated approaches and patterns. The photo shows my setup for Laminar Research's X-Plane 12 flight simulator. By linking a couple of iPads running Avidyne's IFD440 and IFD100 (talking to the virtual Aspen Avionics PFD) plus ForeFlight I can run systems very similarly to how Li'l Blue (a 1978 Grumman Tiger) is set up. Flying the sim using Honeycomb Aeronautical's Alpha flight controls and Bravo throttle quadrant with Logitech G's flight radio panel just adds to the realism - the closer the sim is to real world, the more useful the training is in order to prep me to fly safely into a new environment. In the past few years I noticed a lack of information or documentation how to export simulator data to Curtiss-Wright IADS, so i decided to make a universal application, X-plane, Prepar3D or DCS including weapon data. This application is running on each simulators computer or a multiplayer server and streaming data to IADS server, each simulator has its own channel, the rest is just to configure the IADS server for each channel.
