Inviting friends & family to free concert I am hosting as I go to new phase in my 9/11 journey - “Take the Day Back: Elvis and Aretha Franklin Tribute Concert in Trussville honoring legacy and life of my brother Army Major Dwayne Williams. Join us 6-8 pm Wednesday Sept 11 in Trussville Entertainment District as we celebrate how Dwayne lived, not how he died in the 9/11 terrorist attack on the Pentagon. Thanks to sponsors concert is free - proceeds will get a new bronze bust of Dwayne at Alabama Fallen Warriors Monument in Trussville plus go towards the ROTC scholarship in his memory in my hometown alma mater Jacksonville State- See flyer below. This free concert on September 11 at 6 pm in Trussville Entertainment District near Ferus Artisan Ales honors the legacy of my brother, U.S. Army Major Dwayne Williams, who was killed in the 9/11 terrorist attack on the Pentagon. The event will help erect a bronze bust of Dwayne at the Alabama Fallen Warriors Monument in Trussville & raise funds for the Major Dwayne Williams Memorial ROTC Scholarship at Jacksonville State University. Sculptor Nelson Grice, who created the larger-than-life statue of Miss Fancy at Avondale Park, has graced the Birmingham Public Library with 12 of his smaller-scale works. On display in the Lobby Gallery at the Central Library, Grice’s chimerical clay and bronze sculptures include an octopus with a human head, a griffin-like creature called “Long Tall Silly,” and a monkey seemingly dressed in a Bugs Bunny costume, among other unusual creatures. Grice says his work is inspired by building with toys such as Legos or Lincoln Logs. “Everything is fresh and new each time I come into the studio. I bring out my [sculpted] parts and pieces and just build.
