Ahhh! This is the moment that everything will come to a head! Leaning back and putting my body #overtheedge is going to be so scary, exciting, and nerve-wracking! But I’m willing to do it for an incredible cause! I’m going to rappel to expand adolescent recovery services because I wish a place like 4D Recovery existed when I started experiencing Substance Use Disorder in high school. A place that made RECOVERY look attractive to me. A place where I could see other people I thought were cool and admired who chose SOBRIETY and had a lot of fun doing it! When I was in high school the kids I saw having fun were the ones dropping acid and MDMA, or at the least getting high and drinking at all the parties. But the fact is, with the surge of fentanyl - it’s no longer safe for kids to have an experimental phase like so many of us did! And in Oregon, there are very few resources available to people under the age of 18. It’s time to expand adolescent recovery support and treatment! What an EPIC way to bring awareness and raise money for the future of our world.. our youth! 🔆 I’m looking for local businesses who want to join us as sponsors as we descend into action, raising vital funds and awareness. Let's explore the reach of a Community Ec Dev project—it's a ripple of change! ✳️Let's say a Tool Share is set up by a Lions Club in a small community. 💧𝗜𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗽: Locals get together and donate their old (but still good) tools to be used by anyone within their community (hammer drills, circular saw, nail gun etc.) 🌊𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝗥𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗲: People who can’t afford tools, or only need a particular tool for a quick project can access tools to help with their DIY. Also, more experienced people in the community act as mentors to help others use the tools. 🌊𝟮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗲: The tool share becomes THE place to hang out in the community. It means newcomers to the community have a place to integrate and learn from those more established community members. It creates a sharing and stronger sense of belonging and community. 🌊𝟯𝗿𝗱 𝗥𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗲: The group grows so much that a yearly membership fee is charged for people to join the tool share, and this allows them to buy new and better tools to share. 🌊𝟰𝘁𝗵 𝗥𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗲: This idea is implemented within other smaller communities in the area, allowing for more sharing of tools and interaction of community members, leading to more cohesion and less loneliness amongst residents. #SmallCommunity #CFEK #CommunityFutures #VibrantRuralCommunities #Rural #EconomicDevelopment #EastKootenays #Community #CED

Normalcy. Some of us take it for granted.⁠ ⁠ Normalcy.
