The Association of Indoor Play (AIP) Conference and Awards 2024 was a blast! While we didn't snag the Best Trade Supplier award, we're thrilled to have been finalists. Huge congratulations to the winners! 🏆 As proud sponsors, we loved networking at our stall and chatting all things gamification with both old and new friends. Special shoutout to our very own Adam Starnes and Elliott Myatt from The Play Company for their insightful talk on the US vs UK market in indoor play! 🇺🇸🇬🇧 Highlights: 🍩 Hayley Wiltshire and Grace Cupper got roped into a donut-packing production line for Rossi – so fun! 🤝 Team building with a TikTok-inspired rope exercise, congrats to Samuel Whittington's team for winning and showing off on stage! 🥤 Fueling up with our neighbours, Capri Sun Group – couldn't have asked for better placement! We capped off the day with drinks, an awards dinner, and a heartwarming speech from Magic Makers, the event's chosen charity. Thanks to everyone who made the day unforgettable! Until next year! 👏

Bring back kids for a quid! As a professional sports club aiming to boost fan attendance sustainably, there is a psychological shift induced by charging even a nominal fee, such as $1, or £1 for those reading in England :) Having seen many free ticket campaigns offered by sports clubs only have a minimal short-term impact on attendance, this small fee can significantly alter the dynamics of the social contract and commitment between the club and its supporters. What are your most successful ways of improving long-term attendance at your game? https://lnkd.in/ga54Ff_7

Creating an impactful partner network for grassroots football in Hampshire. Contact: [email protected].
The BEST* event in Hampshire FA's grassroots football calendar, has been spond-sored ⬅ Thanks for that Daniel Benham! Spond are officially the headline sponsors of our Hampshire FA Grassroots Football Awards ceremony and I couldn't be more thrilled! I met the lovely Charlene Kemp at Front Lawn Community Hub last week and our meeting went well over the 2 hours and then some. Most difficult part of it, you say? Taking a photo would you believe and so on that basis we had to go generic in the end 😂! Anyway, I said it was the best event. This is very much a personal opinion.. Our awards ceremony recognises and celebrates people and organisations that have made outstanding contributions to grassroots football in Hampshire and will this year take place on Saturday 27th of July at the Hilton Southampton - Utilita Bowl. The event sees up to 300 people in attendance, a mix of club and league representatives, players, referees, coaches, volunteers and much more, and provides the perfect opportunity to highlight Spond and the app’s comprehensive support for members. I personally love everything about this ceremony. I enjoy planning it, delivering it and most of all, I enjoy seeing others having a good time and being presented with their well-deserved achievements in the season. We unite everyone under one roof in celebration of them, so really, what isn't to love! Another thing, the memories and the conversations do tend to stick even after and admittedly, emotions do tend to run high as well. You can never underestimate the importance of what it means to those who are present and yes, I have also been there and have been informed that this may in fact, be the last event some will also see. A personal story shared with me last season and one I'll never forget either. When you have knowledge of something like that, you know that the very thing you are planning and delivering, goes way beyond simply being a celebratory event, to being perhaps the last event for some. You're crafting something much more than what appears on the surface and the words have a lasting effect ❤️. At the heart of The Friends of Jack Foundation is a spirit of fun and creativity. The Friends of Jack Foundation sought to secure new sponsorships and decided to change things up a bit. So, they said 'Out with the old, static .pdf sponsorship deck' and decided to produce a dynamic and engaging video that brings their mission to life! The Friends of Jack wants its sponsors to experience its foundation in a way that goes beyond words on paper. This video isn't just another marketing asset; it's a carefully crafted piece designed for a specific audience. To maximize its impact, the leadership team revamped its sales process and strategically identified the exact moment to integrate this unique video into their sponsorship pitches. The idea was that this video would complement their process, not replace it entirely. Unlike the traditional .pdf sponsor deck, which has the same information, The Friends of Jack Sponsor Video offers a more engaging experience for potential sponsors. What creative measures have you taken to secure new sponsors? Share your ideas in the comments section! #nonprofitfundraising #sponsorshipopportunity #pitchingskills #nonprofitmarketing https://lnkd.in/gTWPiXTi

💰Throwing money at the game doesn’t always mean the fans are happy. Last weekend, many Bundesliga fans in Germany demonstrated their dissatisfaction with football leaders who plan to boost short-term income by selling a portion of future TV broadcast revenues to a private equity partner. 😡 At Union Berlin and Borussia Mönchengladbach home matches, supporters launched chocolate coins (traditional Christmas gifts) onto the playing field in protest. Much like football tactics, there are different ways you can play the commercial game. Earlier this year I shared Fortuna Dusseldorf’s atypical approach to fan engagement and commercial funding. 💡 CEO, Alexander Jobst said “With 'Fortuna For Everyone', we're doing things differently and breaking new ground." Their stadium, the Merkur Spiel-Arena holds 54,600. Average attendances for Fortuna had been around 33,000. Not bad for a tier 2 team, but they wanted more. 🎟️ Eight months ago they first announced the revolutionary concept of free tickets for three home games. Even away supporters! Their goal is to reconnect with their community. So how did it go? The club had 120,000 ticket requests for the first free match. 🤯 Most from the local area. Nearly 25% were new fans who hadn’t been to a game before. ☹️ However, just half an hour into the match, Fortuna Düsseldorf were 0-3 behind to Kaiserslautern in front of their full stadium. Talk about fluffing your lines on opening night! Fortuna(tely) the home team ended up putting in a remarkable second half comeback to reward their fans, both the veterans and novices, with a 4-3 win at the final whistle. 🥳 How to make this free ticket campaign sustainable? 💡 Jobst made it clear at the announcement: "To be able to offer all home matches free of charge, we need more long-term partners. We're happy about the companies that are already on board, and we're open to others who want to join us on this extraordinary path." Giving away tickets to one match creates a €500,000 shortfall, but Fortuna believes in the value of a full stadium. They see it as a win for broadcasters, a win for sponsors and most importantly a win for fans. The atmosphere in a full stadium creates an experience which excites people. Both membership applications and merchandise sales spiked after the game. ❄️ The next free-ticket game is in January, when the average Dusseldorf temperature is just 3°C. So those conditions will test how warm new supporters are to the concept. The phrase “if something is free, you’re the product” is often applied in a negative sense when big tech, social media, apps or software are being talked about. But free-to-air television has been using an advertising model since 1941 - coincidentally that was an advert for a watch during a sports game! 👏 Viel Glück Fortuna. Innovation and community purpose initiatives should be applauded - win, lose or draw on the field. #honocoinsights #fortunafüralle #sponsorship
