Experienced Sales Operations and Supply Chain Specialist | Enroute to Global Business Master's at MTU| Proficient in Salesforce Administration - NetSuite - SAP S/4HANA
Back in 2012, I used to think retail work was just about standing around. Fast-forward to today, and I've just finished a stint as a Sales Consultant at NEXT Retail - Opera Lane Cork, an experience that completely changed my perspective. I learned that retail demands more than you might imagine: understanding sales patterns, meticulous customer service and sales handling, even on your toughest days and the hidden strategy behind store layouts. What surprised me most was how much my NEXT experience dovetailed with my master's studies. Supply chain, operations, even sustainability – it all came alive on the sales floor, giving my coursework a reality check! Perhaps most importantly, working at NEXT has sparked reflection on the broader implications of consumer behavior and sustainability. Processing returns daily has raised important questions about our consumption patterns and the role we play in fostering sustainable practices. I never imagined a part-time sales job would be this impactful, but it has. From preconceptions shattered to eye-opening insights, I'm grateful for the experience and the lessons that will shape my future career. It's great to be back studying business management at Manchester Metropolitan University for my second year. Last week i attended the Get Placed Q&A Panel featuring representatives from Gymshark and Primark. This where i found valuable information which was very motivational and interesting to find out more about these companies and how a placement is like from previous students and what is required from you. I have enjoyed my first few weeks back interacting with my new modules and looking forward to face new challenges and develop and showcase my skills throughout the year networking with other students and businesses to help me progress myself professionally to secure a placement position for next year. #mmu #placement #placements #university #businessmanagement #business

After returning from a deployment in the Middle East, I worked as a nurse at a private surgery center in North New Jersey. While working with high-profile patients, including celebrities and athletes, I realized that the fulfillment I experienced as a nurse was greater when serving soldiers and I lost my passion for nursing. This realization led to a career shift into the business sector. Starting as a Store Manager for one of the largest c-store chains in the U.S., I quickly progressed through the ranks. Through hard work and determination, I had moved up to the Corporate Office and worked my way to a Category Manager position on the Marketing team. Persistence, defined as unwavering determination in pursuing goals despite challenges and setbacks, played a crucial role in my journey. While my goal was not to stay a Store Manager I knew I needed to learn the field while I aspired to become a Category Manager. Overcoming numerous obstacles, including the lack of a degree, I persevered. Despite being told that I shouldn't even be working on the same floor as my department for not having a degree, I kept pushing. Ultimately receiving a leadership award from the Global Team for my work on a significant Capex project redefining coffee in the convenience space and helped my category stand out as a growth leader for the business. I pursued and received not only my Bachelors but also an MBA over the next 4 years as well after already making it to the position I wanted. In today's fast-paced world, persistence has become a vital trait that distinguishes high achievers from others. It serves as the driving force behind innovation, personal growth, and remarkable accomplishments. It enables you to stay focused on your objectives, adapt to changing circumstances, and find creative solutions to complex problems. P.S. Never look down on someone who doesn’t have a degree if they have the experience and are willing to put in the work they may be better suited for the job. #Persistence #Success #ProfessionalGrowth #Achievement #NeverGiveUp

The milestones wall in our Gateshead store really brings to life how our colleagues can develop and gain skills for life while working in retail. Here’s what General Manager, Phil, has to say: "We work hard on developing colleagues and have colleagues learning from each other. For me, a colleague trying their hardest is what's important. Build the correct behaviours and the performance will land. And remember to have fun whilst doing it!" #Gateshead #CareerDevelopment #RetailCareer #LearningDevelopment
