Why not pay actual video producers? I don’t understand this ai video generators. Why don’t these companies focus on the editing, compositing and mixing part and make the lives easier for video and film producers. Focusing those areas can hugely benefit the vfx and video producer companies to earn more. No one is looking to work without people. So better give them tools to do work quicker than replacing them completely. You people don’t understand how negative this is being impacted on the video and film producers while quoting for freelance work. Please rethink how you can help in the video production pipeline to make months work to days
All look fake.
What's so hilarious about generated video is it doesn't understand temporal consistency. It's just trained on the frames that make up video. That's why often movement looks reversed. Because it doesn't train on a point a to point b ground truth. it's just trained on the frames, so it could run it forward and backwards and upside down, but you get movement that looks normal followed by sharp movement that is indicative of reverse footage. Everything about this is uncanny. The weird "shouting" face guy and the guy that looks super confused then awkwardly looks down in reverse are especially interesting.
Funny how the videomaking community wants to dismiss any of those posts. Do they have a fear of losing it in the end ?
Last week, I had a workshop with children from disadvantaged families about videography. They had the opportunity to create storyboards and film snippets with the help of AI, bringing their wishes and goals closer to the opportunities of privileged society. Of course, there are always two sides to the coin, but I see tools like Runway or Midjourney, when used sensibly, as powerful means of democratizing tools that generate creative output and channel ideas and visions.
Are these worth the lakes they swallow?
Hmmm. Are we at the point when staring into the middle distance is a performance. ? The consistency is impressive. The floaty camera and Beyoncé fan is a bit much but seems to be an AI thing. I’m sure we will get beyond these tech demos eventually.
