What I do explained to my grandma: 1. I find smart/talented/driven people to give me capital. 2. I give that capital to smart/talented/driven people who are solving complex problems. 3. I leverage other smart/talented/driven people to help support those smart/talented/driven people in growing their companies.  4. I give those smart/talented/driven people back more capital than they gave me.  5. Then the world is left with one less problem to solve thanks to all these smart/talented/driven people. “And what do you love about it?” I get to work with really, really smart/talented/driven people all day long. 8 years ago, long before the fund, I wrote that my life mission was to: “spend my life solve interesting problems with interesting people and lift everyone up around me along the way.” Feeling grateful today be able to live that mission every day at GTMfund. Someone told me there was a lull in VC land over the summer...we're definitely not feeling any signs of that, it's been one of the busier months I can remember but loving every minute. Just getting started…

Michael Clurman, Jr. Michael is a Managing Director of FocusPoint with over 30 years of experience covering Family Offices and their founders, Private Equity sponsors and Hedge Fund firms in a variety of senior roles.
