Have you ever worked on a project many moons ago and looked back at that work and you gave it 😳 “What was I thinking?” When I was first introduced to my team Andrea Zwaschka and Halle Walsh, we were building the Learning and Development group from the ground up. I started my first Active Directory integration video using character designs and a lot of movement. I thought was awesome what I created at that time. Now, I look back at it, and I’m proud of the work I’ve done, but I also see a lot of design decisions that made me just go straight to face palm with embarrassment. 😅 I can easily say “I wish I never did that,” but that would mean I wouldn’t have reached where I am now. We learn and grow. We MUST have failure to become better at what we do. I can say I’m more seasoned now, and consider myself a professional, but I will always humble myself because there are new techniques, styles and tools that are out there to discover. **And yes, that is a T-Rex in an instructional video screenshot 🙄. I used quirky small goofy bite sized bits to keep the users engaged or to help them remember what has happened at that segment. (Also the T-Rex was referenced as the products mascot for a small while too) My idea was that if they remembered there was a T-Rex in the video, it would mentally attach the imagery to the explanation they were learning at that moment. Something like “There’s a scene with a T-Rex in it that talked about using Windows official Services and Features.” #freelance #opentowork #freelancedesigner #motiongraphics #instructionaldesign
