👀‼️In our latest episode of #RoadToGravity the aero team invited us into the wind tunnel lab of aerodynamic testing for Gravity.

BMW Developing Adaptive Cooling for Motorcycles BMW is considering using a shutter system, like in their cars, for cooling on motorcycles. These shutters would manage airflow to the radiator, improving aerodynamics when the engine doesn't need maximum cooling. Traditional radiators are oversized for daily needs, causing aerodynamic drag, but the proposed system aims to redirect air around the radiator, reducing drag and improving efficiency. While only outlined in patents, this innovation might appear in the upcoming R 1300 GS adventure bike, showing BMW's potential adaptation from cars to motorcycles. Translating this concept to bikes might not be too challenging if it proves as beneficial as the patent suggests. Volvo is working on its first-ever MPV and it’ll be electric. Now, the carmaker has released its first teaser of what it calls the EM90 ahead of its unveiling on November 12. While the teaser only gives us an overhead view, it appears to be big enough to accommodate three rows of seats. Also present is a panoramic sunroof for the rear occupants with a separate opening for the front row occupants. Aside from the fact that it is electric, Volvo claims it’ll be a "Scandinavian living room on the move." So we can safely say it will have a minimalist, but tech-laden cabin, following a similar philosophy to the Volvo EX30 and EX90 SUVs. What do you think so far about the Volvo EM90 electric MPV? In December 2023 I tested the fully electric Volvo XC40 P6 Recharge (front-wheel drive) in very cold and winterly conditions around 0° Celcius and below. https://lnkd.in/dUUhsmH6 The Volvo XC40 is a great car with plenty of Volvo "umpf" and Swedish quality despite the fact that it is built at Volvo's Belgian factory in Ghent and based on Chinese Geely technology. But it is also a boxy SUV with with a fairly high coefficient of drag of 0.329 causing a slightly worse efficiency compared to similarly sized competitors. For most drivers the consumption will not be a problem unless you drive long distances at highway speeds. I like the excellent Volvo XC40 because of its built-in ergonomics, perceived quality and the google-based in-car entertainment system and software. #volvo #volvocars #volvoxc40recharge #carvolution #wintertest #electriccars #mobilityinsider
