It will be interesting to see what unfolds in 2024. Especially whether AI really advances. I have made a number of low value and high value purchases online and instore. From my experience - ONLINE - the online purchase experience has been a mixed bag in terms of customer satisfaction. There have been bad customer service, long long long wait times for customer service via (namely with banks and telco's and energy providers), unavailable stock and long waits for refunds. Instore - maybe my expectations were lower - for example, if the item is not available, I just accept it and don't buy. But the refund experience and general instore customer experience have been a lot easier and better than online (especially from Bunnings, they have been so easy to deal with and such a significant difference to 5yrs back). What's been your experience with online and in-store purchases? And does it depend on $$$$ spent or where you shop?
Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) dominated the headlines in 2023. But will it deliver for retailers in 2024? Nicola Kinsella talks to VMblog about why, when it comes to retail, AI will continue to rely on people and up-to-date data to help drive more sales, enhance customer loyalty, and improve inventory management.
