While celebrating Father’s Day this past weekend, the question popped into my mind of ‘What type of legacy do I want to leave for my son?’ I think it is an important question for all of us parents to reflect on. However, in our busy lives, it’s easy to lose sight of what truly matters. Here is the legacy I want my son to know about his dad as it pertains to my career: 1) I stayed true to my values & priorities I have 5 main pillars for my values that I call the F5s: Faith, Family, Fitness, Finances, and Friends.  These pillars shape everything I do, from my career decisions to personal growth. 2) No matter the role or work, I gave it my all This is a gentle reminder for me of the work I want to provide: "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters” Colossians 3:23-24 3) I choose Courage over Comfort All the magic happens outside of our comfort zone. Whether that be starting a new project at work, starting a new campaign, or acquiring another multifamily building all the magic happens outside the comfort zone. Stay tuned as I share insights on: - Identifying a vision and sticking to it - Balancing a fulfilling career with a busy personal life - Becoming an asset in your company and acquiring cash flow-producing assets like real estate Whether you are a parent or not, do yourself a favor and think about the legacy you want to leave.

Success, in my view, is all about the difference we make in others' lives. These moments of triumph have become the heart and soul of my career, adding a profound sense of purpose. It's about the lives touched, the positive influence shared, and the human connections that make every effort worthwhile. Yesterday I had the privelige to attend Northwestern Mutual for their Team Gold Luncheon, where they recognized and rewarded outstanding advisors and interns for their remarkable work, efforts, and success, followed by an incredible and motivating speech presented by Paul Montello, CLU®, ChFC®, CLTC, RICP®. This opportunity was such a unique experience as someone completely outside the company getting invited to see what it’s like to be a part of an amazing company culture. I am truly blessed Chance Goff reached out to me to connect with Taylor Randol who got to know me not just as a professional but as a person as well, and shared a little bit about the company that led to this incredible opportunity. I cannot thank these folks enough for networking with me and allowing me to be a part of the company culture for a day. Paul’s speech was extremely insightful on self motivation and motivating others to succeed and improve productivity and lifestyle overall. Some key takeaways I want to incorporate in my own life and work right now are: Breakfast for Champions: The Morning Routine - 7 questions to reflect on progress and improvement The power of mentorship and how to gain a mentor. How to be relentless in pursuing learning and growth - understanding the importance in a positive/optimistic outlook - asking, “how can I provide more value?” The significance of gratitude and giving - It is more rewarding to give than to receive - A little bit of gratitude can go a long way The most influential point in his speech was how much more successful/productive you can be by taking the first 3 hours of your day seriously to knock out the big/difficult to do’s. It was an absolute honor to experience Northwestern Mutual culture and listen to Paul’s speech. In just 2 hours they were so impactful and able to show exactly how much their core values mean to them and what an amazing company they are to work for. I never imagined a company to truly care about and celebrate their employees’ success and hard work the way Northwestern Mutual does. I hope to see more of this in the future!

March 2023, I had the privilege of attending Philly SHRM's one-day symposium and hearing Andre Young speak. His session left me inspired and changed the way I thought about accomplishments. He spoke about on how many of us, especially women, often go to bed focusing on what we didn't achieve rather than celebrating what we did. I decided to start noting down my daily accomplishments, and it wasn't easy at first. I had a habit of searching for grand achievements. But over time, I realized that even the seemingly small victories were worth acknowledging. My definition of accomplishment began to shift. Instead of solely focusing on work-related feats like "implementing a new mechanism that cut processing time from 60 to 15 minutes," I started appreciating moments like "spending quality time with my dog (instead working late to answer emails as quickly as possible)" or "finally catching up on much-needed sleep (even though I missed my workout)." This practice not only helped me find silver linings but also taught me to celebrate the little things in life. I even involved my husband in this exercise, asking him to share his accomplishment of the day. It allowed me to understand what made him feel accomplished and to celebrate his wins alongside mine. While learning new skills to advance our careers is important, I've come to realize that learning to enhance our entire lives is even more valuable. Looking back on a year's worth of written accomplishments, I can see how this simple practice has enriched my perspective and life. I can’t wait to see what we “accomplish” this year.

I remember packing up our lives in Londonderry, New Hampshire, so my dad could start a new job in Seattle, Washington. 📦🌟 It was daunting. 😳 As a 14 year old kid, moving across the country felt like stepping into a different world. 🌎 I was leaving behind friends, familiar places, and a slice of life I cherished. 💔 A fun fact: a classmate from Londonderry moved when I did and ended up at the same middle school in Seattle. It was a small world moment in a big life change. 🌍❤️ Then came Seattle – a city vibrant with culture and new opportunities. 🌆 It was here that my love for baseball truly blossomed. ⚾️ I set a goal: Play for Stanford and then go pro. I even had a vision board before I knew what one was! 🎯 This move taught me resilience and the power of embracing change.
