As a Georgia Native and a Veteran Football Player, I can't help but draw parallels between the recent turn of events in college football and the professional world, especially in real estate. The Georgia Bulldogs, once at the pinnacle of college football, found themselves unexpectedly out of the College Football Playoff, a stark reminder that being number one is a responsibility that requires consistent excellence and no room for complacency. In Colorado Springs' real estate market, this resonates deeply. Holding the top spot, be it in sports or business, isn't just about reaching the peak; it's about staying there. https://lnkd.in/gRQBKJkm I actually saw proposed renovated pictures of the Dean Smith Center five or six years ago, but those renovations never happened..The Dean Smith Center opened up in 1986 and is one the of the biggest college basketball arenas for seating capacity with a little over 20,000..North Carolina has also been successful since 1986 with trips to the Final Four in 92, 93, 97, 98, 2000, 2005, 2008, 2009, 2016, 2017, and 2022 and national championships won in 2005, 2009, and 2017..Despite it's massive seating bowl, the problem is the Dean Smith Center is outdated compared to other college basketball arenas..It doesn't have luxury suites or as big of concourse space as other arenas..Dayton, Purdue, Indiana, Clemson, Maryland, Indiana State, Nebraska, Missouri, and Florida renovated or built new college basketball arenas at some point in the 21st century..UNC is looking at possible renovations or building a new basketball arena..#facilitymanagement #eventmanagement #hospitality #fundraising #marketing #sportbusiness 💠 🏀 🗑 🏟 🆚 💺 🚧

State, Indiana, and Kentucky have the biggest venues used for college basketball games, but are they the most suited for college basketball fans and the college basketball culture..Some of the smaller arenas at Duke, Penn, and Butler have that old prestige and old school feel of college basketball and don't have the luxury suites..Some players like when the fans are near the court to cheer them on..Some arenas are not built that way..Some arenas are built to host hockey games and concerts and not just for basketball..The dimensions and feel for a hockey game is different than basketball..#eventmanagement #facilitymanagement #sportbusiness #marketing #hospitality 🏀 🗑 💺 🏟 📣 🆚 🏚 🏫

We are so thankful for our alumni who shared their experiences & how athletics helped prepare them for their current careers! Some gems from our alumni: - The biggest resource for you to manage isn’t going to be money, it’s going to be your time. - Learn to say no. - Communicate. Communicate. Communicate. - Bet on yourself.

The interesting thing about private equity firms investing in college athletics is that it is being thought of as an additional stream of revenue for college athletics to pay the athletes. However, I think that private equity firms will mostly wnat to invest in bigger programs leaving smaller ones with more questions than answers. If those smaller programs cannot find enough additional revenue to pay athletes then they may have to cut certain sports. The first ones that may come to mind for programs would be some women's sports but it is not that easy. By cutting women's sports programs will have major title IX implications that go along with that decision. College sports are definitely in an interesting spot right now.

This will be interesting to see how it plays out 10 years from now.

While the city boasts a vibrant sports culture and rich basketball history, there are limited tourist attractions in Indianapolis specifically related to the NBA. One of the main attractions for NBA fans is the Bankers Life Fieldhouse, home of the Indiana Pacers and host to numerous NBA games and events. However, the arena lacks any significant historical or cultural significance, making it a rather underwhelming attraction for non-sports enthusiasts. Another notable NBA-related attraction is the NCAA Hall of Champions, showcasing the history and achievements of college basketball. However, for those solely interested in the NBA, the focus on college basketball may not be as appealing. While Indianapolis may be hosting the NBA All-Star 2024, visitors seeking a more diverse and engaging tourist experience may find themselves disappointed by the lack of NBA-focused attractions in the city. Nonetheless, Bankers Life Fieldhouse and the NCAA Hall of Champions are worth a visit for basketball fans.
