🌍 Setting Course for the Arctic! We are thrilled to announce our strategic partnership in the fight against climate change. 🌡️ For several years, SYRLINKS and OHB Sweden have closely collaborated within the AWS project, which entails a constellation of microsatellites designed to gather meteorological data in the Arctic region, where climate is particularly sensitive to changes. 🛰️ Our L-band radiofrequency transmitter (EWC36) will transmit sky-to-ground data in two ways: Stored Data: Data collected by our instruments on each orbit will be sent to the ground station for later analysis. Real-time Data Transmission: This feature allows real-time data transfer to ground meteorological stations, providing vital information for weather forecasting improvement. ☀️This partnership strengthens our commitment to preserving our planet and contributes to a better understanding of climate changes in the Arctic. Really interesting analysis from EUMETSAT on the socio-economic benefit of #Aeolus2 showing a benefit to cost ratio of 20 (!) for the programme. This really highlights the critical importance, and value for money, of the Aeolus-2 mission.

Today begins 10 Days of 10 Tech Trends, where one tech trend from the latest #10Hottest article will be highlighted each day. First up is "Climate Change as a Catalyst for EO Technologies." The market for satellite-based Earth Observation (EO) technologies has largely focused on the government and military sectors, as well as some larger enterprise sectors like oil and gas. But growing concern over the effects of climate change will support the launch of new EO satellite technologies, including hyperspectral, infrared, microwave, and greenhouse gas monitoring. I'm excited to share my latest paper, "The Electromagnetic Force and Global Wind Patterns: An In-depth Review." This work explores the significant yet underappreciated role of the electromagnetic force (EMF) in shaping global climate and weather. While EMF is well-known for its applications in technology, this paper examines its impact on wind patterns through interactions between the Earth's electromagnetic field and the solar wind. Understanding these mechanisms is crucial for predicting regional climates and global weather, with implications for aviation and navigation. I hope you find this review enlightening and look forward to your feedback! #ElectromagneticForce #GlobalWinds #ScientificResearch #Aviation #Navigation

"What's the deal with these methane satellites?" david roberts spoke to Environmental Defense Fund's Mark S. Brownstein about MethaneSAT and the growing ecosystem of methane-tracking satellites 🎧👇 "MethaneSAT really is the first time that we will have an instrument that is capable of giving us a relatively comprehensive picture of an actual concentration of greenhouse gas pollutants coming from a major industry. And so what it signals is that we're entering a world now where, for any greenhouse gas pollutant, we will start to be able to measure actual concentrations of that greenhouse gas pollutant in the atmosphere and also the actual emissions associated with individual industrial sectors...." #ionosphericheaters moves the cold from the north pole over canada and the USA and Northern Europe. (2020)"However, the stratospheric heating produced by these aerosols modifies the circulation and strengthens the stratospheric polar vortex which acts as a barrier to the transport of air toward the poles." https://lnkd.in/g2nYn48N

The development of a digital twin of the Earth system is at the core of the ambitious EU initiative Destination Earth (DestinE), a key element of the green and digital transition, implemented under the leadership of the Directorate General Communications Networks, Content and Technology (DG-CNECT). DestinE aims to set up a new type of information system, encompassing unprecedented levels of detail, quality and interactivity, to support the green transition. But what exactly is a digital twin and what are the specifics of this notion when it relates to creating a digital replica of the Earth system? Check out the article “Understanding DestinE’s Digital Twins”.

About the fuel necessary to inhibit gravity The energy system that I propose for the interplanetary ship is that it will work with a fuel that, by acceleration due to potential difference in a closed circuit, will be able to cancel the quantum gravitational field without having to replace it; leaving the rocket system obsolete, which wastes the excessive amount of materials used to ignite the thrust, releasing them as non-reusable waste.

The Aerosol, Clouds and Trace Gases Research Infrastructure (ACTRIS-RI) officially became the 33rd European Research Infrastructure Consortium (#ERIC) on April 25, 2023 with the support of seventeen founding memberand observer countries, including the Netherlands. ACTRIS-NL is supported by the Ministerie van Infrastructuur en Waterstaat, and Ruisdael Observatory. The Ruisdael Observatory site in Cabauw is an official ACTRIS labelled observatory platform. Ruisdael Observatory is also involved in two national facilities of ACTRIS: the #CCRES (centre for cloud remote sensing), led by Herman Russchenberg, and the #CREGARS (centre for reactive trace gases remote sensing), led by Arnoud Apituley. As a pan-European legal organisation, ACTRIS ERIC will coordinate the provision of data and data products on short-lived atmospheric constituents and #cloudsrelevant to climate and air #pollution over the next 15-20 years. A newly published article describes the mission of ACTRIS, its added value to the community of atmospheric scientists, providing services to academia as well as the public and private sectors, and to summarise its main achievements of the last twenty years: https://lnkd.in/e-djPvuj #ClimateChange #ClimatePollution #AirPollution Delft University of Technology | KNMI - Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute

United Electronic Industries (UEI) offers compact and rugged data acquisition and controls solutions ideal for industrial, energy, and laboratory applications. During a field campaign in the Arctic Circle, researchers at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution developed a cabled data acquisition system using UEI’s solutions to study the changes in sea ice, an important part of Earth’s climate system. Swipe below to learn how UEI’s rugged technology enabled critical data collection, potentially enhancing our understanding of climate change.
