Accountability is the key to success, especially when it comes to sales goals. But did you know that accountability plays a role in our everyday lives as well? When our thoughts, feelings, and actions become habits, our identity naturally holds us accountable to following through. It becomes second nature. Additionally, our environment provides built-in accountability within our family, team, or friend circle. When people are expecting and counting on us to be or do something, we are more likely to follow through. So remember, accountability isn't just for hitting sales goals, it's a crucial part of our daily lives.

I’m trying to express my thoghts over manager definition & this role: MANAGER: Who manages employee resources effectively & efficiently to achieve the common objective of organization. Who multiply the experience i.e. can help to manouver thru complex sales stages while securing the opportunity profitably & keeping customer satisfied & retained for longer run. Manager should not be like just delegating the things & making employee the scapegoat.

To be or not to be It was decades ago when I was promoted to become my team's manager. It didn't happen by accident, never ever will; I worked hard for it. I was excited yet fearful at the same time. The feeling was overwhelming. Let's dissect it. The role of a sales manager (besides achieving sales targets) is to lead the team, coach, mentor, and motivate the team. Resolve their challenges. Empower them. And the list goes on... Boy, you can tell my excitement didn't contain for more than a week. If you noticed, it is all about and for the team. Nothing about me. This itself is the essence of a Sales Manager. Instantly, the motto that I have been holding true - Lead by example. When we decided to host a warehouse sale, I quickly formed a project team and empowered them to get down and dirty with their hands and feet. And I too asked, "So, on the event day, where am I rostered in?" The PM replied, "Cashier counter." It's boring; I opted for the Reception counter (story for another day). Now, let's take a look at the challenges of a Sales manager: 1. Team Performance: Ensuring the team meets or exceeds sales targets. 2. Talent Management: Recruiting, retaining, developing, and managing out. 3. Time Management: Juggling multiple responsibilities and tasks effectively. 4. Motivation and Morale: Keeping the team and myself motivated and engaged, especially during tough times. 5. Forecasting accuracy: Predicting sales outcomes accurately to inform business decisions. .....and many more. At the end of the day, it is all about building an individual that form a team. What team? The winning team 💪 . Let me assure you that these essentials have been time and time tested, and they're proven must-haves. If you're a sales leader, take note: People are not hesitant to be brutally honest about the atmosphere that is being developed where they work, even in an employer's market. These kinds of feelings are important: --> Does your team meet its quota? --> Is your team in an environment that allows them to thrive? --> Are people put in situations where they have a better chance of succeeding? (Also known as product-market fit) If your team is (or isn't) in a successful environment, they're letting everyone know. (They're also utilizing this information to decide where they'll work next!)

Ownership breeds trust: When we hold ourselves accountable for our actions and results, we demonstrate integrity and reliability. Clients and colleagues alike are more inclined to trust those who take responsibility for their commitments, fostering stronger relationships and driving long-term success. II. Driving results through self-discipline: In the fast-paced world of sales, self-discipline is the fuel that propels us toward our goals. By embracing accountability, we empower ourselves to set clear objectives, stay focused on priorities, and persist in the face of challenges, ultimately driving meaningful results. III. Continuous improvement: Embracing accountability means recognizing that there's always room for growth. How can sales operations employees improve their teamwork skills? Ensure that team members communicate clearly and openly. Clear communication can help to avoid errors and misunderstandings. Be an active listener. Foster a culture of active listening. This will help to understand others and respond appropriately. It is also important to a positive team culture, encouraging team members to celebrate each other’s success and learn from failures. Incorporate fun and collaborate exercises that promote camaraderie and at the same time establish a feedback channel where team members can freely provide constructive feedback to each other. Most of them showed the following behaviors: - Demonstrated consistency in their performance: their lows were not too low, and their highs often exceeded their average performance. - Reliable when given a task: you knew they would get it done. - Humble in accepting feedback: if they made a mistake, they would accept it and learn from it. - Eagerness to learn: hungry for more, asking how they could improve. If you are a Manager: Ask yourself if you have a team member showing this behaviors. If you do, chances are they might be ready for the next step. If you are an Associate: Doing these things will probably make good things happen soon. Don’t be discouraged and keep up the good work!

Over the past ten years, I've successfully navigated the corporate ladder, progressing from a sales rep to the director of a 150+ staffed call center. What I've learned is that the pursuit of titles alone lacks true value. As a supervisor, I was already performing managerial tasks, and as a manager, I was essentially in a directorial role.
