🌟 Following the earthquake that struck Morocco last September, the Saint-Gobain Foundation supported a Caritas Marrakech project to rehouse the inhabitants of the town of Ouirgane who had lost their homes. 🤝 This initiative enabled the construction of 33 removable family housing units as well as complementary infrastructure, with the aim of providing long-term shelter for more than 150 people, including a large number of children. These homes will also be reused after the reconstruction phases to equip rural schools with classrooms and thus support girls' access to education. 👏 Many thanks to Saint-Gobain Maroc team for their involvement and mobilization in this project and specially to Gilles Abensour who sponsored the project.

President & Co-founder at Undying Hope International, a nonprofit organization, PhD Student, public speaker, advocate for equity in education.
South Sudan has shown a tremendous improvement in the world's educational index in recent years. In my capacity as a concerned citizen, a Ph.D. student with an education concentration, and the President and Co-Founder of Undying Hope International, a nonprofit organization whose focus area is education, I can confidently say that for a country's literacy rate to leap from 27% to 32% is considerable progress, worth praising and celebrating!! That said, there is always room for improvement. As a country and a people, we must aim high, keep enhancing South Sudan's literacy rate, and continue building our country each step of the way. With commitment, dedication, grit, and resilience, we will undoubtedly reach a 90% literacy rate. South Sudan's tapestry is blessed with diversity, an array of talents and gifts, as well as natural and human capital. All of which have the potential to propel our beloved country to new heights. Stay positive and hopeful. Let's build our country... South Sudan & beyond https://undyinghope.org

Children living in the Bandarban Hills, Bangladesh, struggle to attend school. The dense forest makes the journey to the nearest school unsafe, and the paths between the scattered houses are steep and dangerous. Yet, despite these challenges, the Bawm tribe wants to educate their children. The community wanted to build dormitories so their children could live closer to local schools and continue their education. In response, Global Mission Partners helped to establish a hostel in 2012. The hostel management has started initiatives to help the program become self-sustainable. The most recent initiative is two three-wheeled tuk-tuks. Read how the tuk-tuk’s are helping support education in our latest story https://lnkd.in/g6Kn6Tnu

In the shadow of the #politicaltroubles shaking #Haiti, the situation of children has become a true humanitarian emergency. The widespread closure of schools is an undeniable cry for help. Beyond being a mere interruption of classes, it is a direct threat weighing on the intellectual, emotional, and social development of our already vulnerable children. Faced with this poignant reality, remaining indifferent is not an option. #Haitianchildren have the fundamental right to #education, a right currently jeopardized by the ongoing political turmoil. The time has come to act, to act together, to answer this urgent call from our young minds thirsty for knowledge and desiring a better future. This is an appeal to solidarity, to action, to preserving the #futureofHaiti. By uniting our forces, we can create a shield of #protection for our children and pave a way towards resilience. Haiti has always been a country of resilience and courage. Together, let's rise to this challenge, extend our hands to future generations, and ensure that every child in Haiti can dream, learn, and grow in a safe and conducive environment. • UNESCO UNICEF Plan International Plan International Canada UNICEF USA IOM - UN Migration UNFPA Latin America and the Caribbean United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) World Food Programme World Vision UNEDUCH - Universal Education Charter International Institute for Educational Planning (IIEP-UNESCO) Education Cannot Wait (ECW) Save the Children International SOS Children's Villages International #HelpForChildrenOfHaiti #HumanitarianEmergency #EducationInJeopardy #SolidarityInAction

#Yemen faces increasing political, economic, and humanitarian crises, making civil society crucial for sustainable development. Civil society organizations, and non-profit entities, work to improve the capacities of individuals and local communities and promote positive change. Trust in civil society is built through integrity, focusing on societal needs, forming alliances, and acting quickly in times of crisis. Building capacity is a key strategy used by civil society organizations to support the implementation of sustainable development goals. This involves providing individual training and qualifications, developing leadership and management skills, raising community awareness, encouraging regional establishments, providing technical support, and developing institutional capacity. Civil society organizations also create resources and tools, such as research and study preparation, training curricula, and knowledge dissemination through conferences, seminars, and publications. By fostering trust and collaboration, civil society organizations can accelerate development and achieve tangible outcomes. Read more at: https://lnkd.in/d-Qa_r9s

The quarterly report, released on May 20th, indicates this figure represents a substantial increase in out-of-school children since mid-2023, despite humanitarian education efforts aiming to reach nearly 3 million students this year. However, only 356,000 children have received emergency education support as of March. The report cites disruptions caused by seasonal flooding in six regions, with forecasts warning the upcoming Belg rainy season from March to May could impact learning in ten regions.
