Raquel Couto sponsored a project “Rejuntar” with the Saint-Gobain Foundation, in Brazil. This is her story. ⭐️ When a friend asked for help with a project he was taking part in, the Rejuntar project, she wanted to help. The Saint-Gobain Foundation appeared to be the right way to get involved. Supporting Rejuntar alongside the Foundation enabled her to play an active part in the project, participating in the construction work with other volunteers. 👉 “The process was very clear right from the start and I had a great support of the Foundation team during all the journey. It is so great to be able to change lives with the support of the company where you work on. I felt very proud of working in a company which is truly engaged on making the world a better home.” 👏 The aim of Rejuntar project is to reunite precarious families in safe homes. The Foundation is happy to support Rejuntar and Raquel Couto on this project! 👁️🗨️ To find out more about Foundation projects, click here: https://lnkd.in/eS9cP6-T

I'd like to take this moment to extend my gratitude to my teammates at Grass Skirt Project, our inspirational managing director, Tahina Booth and our incredible partners, including the Sir Brian Bell Foundation Ltd, the Pang Family Foundation and Budget Rent a Car- Papua New Guinea. Your support has provided me with a nurturing environment where my opinions and ideas are valued, encouraged personal growth and empowering us to create meaningful change. This aligns perfectly with GSP's powerful new vision, affirming our belief that 'Every person in Papua New Guinea has the right to belong, contribute, and grow.' It's a vision of inclusivity and empowerment that resonates deeply with me, as it reflects how every individual should feel. Reflecting on my journey thus far, I recognize that my achievements have been shaped by the guidance of inspirational mentors who have guided me through life's inevitable challenges and adversities. Their mentorship provided me, and countless other young people, with safe spaces where growth was possible. This support enabled me to pursue my dream and excel in rugby league at the highest level. These mentors also instilled in me the values of empathy, resilience, and the power of choice in shaping our own destiny. It's an ongoing journey, particularly when faced with circumstances beyond our control. Yet, we have choices in how we respond and navigate through life's trials. With this in mind, I made the decision last week to step away from my role at Grass Skirt Project and prioritise my mental health journey. Investing time and energy in self-care has become what will get me back on track to achieve my goals moving forward, knowing that I have a loving family and friends who stand by me. I hold the key to crafting the life I desire, and by prioritising my well-being, I am taking the first step towards that vision. #bethechangeyouwant

Business Design & Innovation Strategist | Leadership Advisor | Founder of (re)Biz & Sixth Sun Immersions | TEDxSpeaker | Evolutionizing Business Revenue with Relational Intelligence
Today is the launch of (re)Biz PROJECT TIPPING POINT alongside The Fountain Earth in solidarity with the Kogi Mamos. We are at a crucial juncture in human history. So many of us are seeing through the illusions of the system, watching COPs fail and lie over and over, seeing that green growth and technosolutionism isn’t where it’s at. Yet, we’re fragmented in our voices, disjointed in choices, attempting to individualize our impact and often times conceptual in our support and action. We need ALL of us to unite as one heart, one mind and one voice to make this change happen together. This is a unification movement. There is safety in numbers, courage is contagious and as a community we can gently shake the world. I'm very happy to be working with Erin Remblance and Kasper Benjamin Reimer Bjørkskov for our education-in-action movement, a six-week self-paced online learning journey guided by the three of us with an amazing global community of people to explore with and hold eachother accountable for these changes in our lives. As an invitation to make this as easy as possible for everyone to join this self-paced journey, not only just to “like” this post, we’ve created two coupon codes for the first 500 changemakers who join to allow easy entry and accessibility to seed this movement. No one is coming to save us. Join us here, the time is now. Coupon codes: Launch65 - 65% off (first 250 people) 2wave50 - 50% off (first 250 people) Learn more about our initiative on our website: https://lnkd.in/d3q75k6f Note: Portions of our proceeds are dedicated to the Kogi Nation and their landback projects in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta in Colombia for biocultural heritage restoration. #projecttippingpoint #rebiz #regeneration #postgrowth #degrowth #esgleadership #cop28 #bethechange #landback

Thanks Gatsby Africa for the invites this week to share our work at the ‘5th International Congress on Planted Forests’ and pre-conference day on ‘Unlocking finance for sustainable and inclusive wood value chains’ at CIFOR-ICRAF Happy to share our study on the supply and demand for timber in East Africa and our on-going work with you on timber in affordable housing. Hoping the conversations lead to greater utilisation of timber as a lower carbon material in construction as we strive to meet the deficit in housing for all in Africa. https://lnkd.in/dzZNzq5c

Preserving and protecting biodiverse wilderness areas through planning, travel, property & business development, education and empowerment | Rewilding Africa | Investing in Africa’s Wilderness Communities
On this world Rewilding day, Rewilding Africa CIC remains determined as ever, to partner wilderness communities in Africa and help create a cohesive, resilient and sustainable rewilding plan for the continent. Africa arguably remains the most topical , controversial and important continent on our planet to rewild, protect and preserve. Her indigenous people are possibly the most persecuted and exploited in the history of modern civilization. Yet, to this day, the spirit of Ubuntu remains strong, as does the natural wisdom of her people, even though severely compromised through developed world consumerism ideals and the bloodshed and chaos left behind after the colonial era. These beliefs are often cast aside, ignored or misunderstood in the quest to provide our own “rewilding solutions” , conjured up in the various boardrooms and costly conferences held around the globe. On this global rewilding day, I ask that you all acknowledge Africa and pledge your true commitment to her people, to make the rewilding vision you may have in your mind, theirs to agree to and own. Happy world Rewilding day #rewilding

Our target is Net-Zero in water and energy pollution. In achieveing this it will solve many other down stream problems. It's important to start at the source first, otherwise your in an endless river of upstream based contaminated flows. In this globally desperate scenario, downstream remediation efforts where the stream meets the sea are just bandaids on bullet wounds. By synchronizing demand to supply with SMART connected storage resources (Including water re-use) will have a dramatic impact by maximizing the opportunity window for renewable (Net-Zero) distributed local alternative renewable supplies. Do the best we can, rather than what we can get away with. In the end we really never get away with anything, we're just shifting the problem downstream. We need to now do the best we can, everywhere we can and protect what's still there. We are not just dealing with our problem, we're dealing with the aggregate of the problem of ignoring it for over a century. In water and energy resource use and the subsequent pollution we have created is killing us and yes there are indeed many scenarios of extinction level consequences if we don't pivot right now. Seek Net-Zero, protect what's left, restore the damage we've done.

Just informed that our great team of legal experts, with whom I had the pleasure of working with 3 years ago to recommend several Mangrove Reserves to the government will lead the efforts to develop a legal-regulatory framework to maintain and increase the resilience of Mangal ecosystems (this term is far more realistic and functional, as it also includes the brackish and freshwater wetland "sponges" that maintain healthy soil conditions for the mangrove "trees" to thrive) in areas like this spectacular 1000 Km2 area along the border with Venezuela, of which we proposed a 600Km2++ reserve ...https://lnkd.in/dJNKev3a
