📡 "Knack" - once you tune into it, it's everywhere 🌎 Too little knack? = maybe you're not holding on to good people Too much knack? = maybe you're designing products poorly Knacks on the "Key Points" of your Standardised Work?...now we're talking How to find knacks - see below 👇 #lean --------------- I'm Russell and if these lean posts are of interest, then follow me on LinkedIn for more tips and lean resources
Someone in your team has the knack - go seek them out. In Japan, it's called Kan-kotsu but we know it more commonly as "The Knack" Kan refers to our five senses (sight, touch, hearing, smell and taste) and Kotsu is a codified method that helps people learn how to do a tricky task quickly. It’s about recognising the knacks in a job, writing them down and training them to new starters. Why wait for people to learn the knacks to a job over time? Combine it with TWI Job Instruction and you've got something close to a superpower. What you can do Ask your Supervisors and Team Leaders to give you the names of operators who are the only ones who can do that job really well. By the way - too much knack indicates something different - it likely means that you designed the product or the work poorly and your shopfloor experts are having to use their human ingenuity to overcome the waste you accidentally baked in. #lean #upskilling

Break the Coaching Rules with Me 🎓Accrediting New & Seasoned Coaches in the Paseda360 Rule-Breaking Coaching Approach 🌿Trusted Coach for Executives 💚Down to Earth Speaker who can ignite your people
Listen to understand rather than to respond.. This SMT team have been practicing the art of giving and hearing feedback today. Hearing feedback is so much easier if you focus on truly listening to what is being said, rather than listening to formulate a defence. When you do the latter, you hear a version of the feedback that isn’t strictly accurate. Team ROCK went to the edge of their confort zones once again exploring the difference between best and worst selves. #leadershipdevelopment

Today is the World Compliment Day. This non-commercially oriented day addresses the basic human need for recognition and appreciation. It is about consciously reflecting on what someone in your area does well and letting that person know he/she is sincerely appreciated for that. Nobody wins commercially, but everybody gains emotionally. And therein lies its power. Our Vice President Corporate HR, Andrea Wolfgang, will shortly offer a "learn and lunch"-session named “The Power of Feedback” to introduce interested employees to the basics, roles, rules and methods of feedback. The aim is to develop an understanding of the impact of feedback in professional development and collaboration as well as to raise awareness of the importance of feedback culture in our company. As Bill Gates once said: “We all need people who will give us feedback. That’s how we improve.” So, make it smarter and make it work at Diehl Controls. #WeAreDiehlControls #worldcomplimentday #thepoweroffeedback #feedback #feedbackculture #communication #improvementofcommunication #makeitworkatdiehl
