It would have never worked. Back in October, Lavie Popack came into the office with a wild idea. He wanted to build a new sales platform that unlocks sales rep’s time to increase impact. The first iteration of the idea is not the beta product that’s live right now. In fact, that version of the idea got 🚫 completely scrapped 🚫. Why? Because there was a helluva lot we had to learn directly from our ICP from then to now. TBH, there’s an endless amount of learning to do. That’s why, when Joshua Bailey 🦕⛵️ introduced us to Josh Norris, who suggested we think outside of the LinkedIn box & take a big risk, we said, “When do we start?” 🏃♂️ 🏃♀️ The big risk? Building in public. Yeah, you read that right. We’ve hired 4 SMEs who are experts in sales tech (and also our ICP) & who care about the problem that Saleboat solves now & in the future. These 4 leaders manage sales reps directly and have signed on to not only use Saleboat with their teams but share their (good, bad, and ugly) feedback on LinkedIn for 3 months. All while we iterate on their feedback in real time. 👀 It’s like a reality show – B2B style. 📣 Shoutout to 📣   Gabrielle “GB” Blackwell Saad Khan Chris Cicconi Jake Wolpert For taking the leap & joining the crew. ⛵ We may not be certain about what the next few months will bring, but we do know that, collectively, we’ll be making 🌊 by building together. What drives professionals to work in a partnership mode? Isn’t it easier to sell directly to the end customer without the middle person? Good to know I’m not the only one who always hears these questions. For the 18th episode of my #42coffees series, I enjoyed the morning flat white with Shuba Paheerathan at The Naked Duck on Bond Street in Sydney’s CBD (what a Christmas tree behind us!). Shuba is a fellow #Partnership Manager at JobAdder, an advocate of #socialselling like myself – and kindly contributed to my book, “Connect & Act”. Last week she co-hosted the first get-together of partner managers from various vendors under the umbrella of Partnership Leaders, the global network dedicated to our craft. We uncovered a lot of mutual mindsets and challenges: 1. There are so many partner models in different product channels available, always something to share with others and learn from partners. 2. An open community like Partnership Leaders helps to tap into the collective knowledge and wisdom. 3. Being the only person responsible for go-to-market with partners in a company requires a lot of groundwork to create a well-oiled machine. 4. We’re both horrible at math: we believe that 1+1 = 3 when it comes to partnerships (my famous “TripleWin” approach). What’s your experience in working with partners?

Partnerships are the linch pin of business growth (those that don't know what a linch pin is- need to spend more time working on a farm, or around machinery), offering a multitude of benefits beyond your typical sales strategy. Here's why partnerships are vital and why they aren't necessarily lumped in with your traditional sales org. Good partner orgs manage and build relationships, that "open the door" for sales, and sales development to work and maneuver effectively... Here's a partial breakdown. -Market Expansion: Partnerships open doors to new markets and customer segments, amplifying reach and driving growth. This growth is not always instant. in fact in some cases it can take years. -Resource Optimization: By pooling expertise and resources, partnerships fuel innovation, accelerate product development, and hopefully reduce costs. -Risk Mitigation: Sharing risks and costs with partners- cushions against potential pitfalls, building endurance and of course- resilience. -Brand Recognition: Aligning with reputable partners enhances brand reputation and credibility, fostering trust and loyalty. -Innovation: Partnerships spark creativity, leading to co-created solutions that meet evolving (ever evolving, as many of us know 😆) customer demands. -Networking: Building a robust partner ecosystem amplifies value creation, attracting more customers and opportunities. Every other post seems to start with, "I just closed a deal of 5 grand, here’s how I did it." Here's a bit of my controversial take... I mean no offence & Kudos to everyone for sharing their achievements, but I can’t help but wonder: Where’s the follow-up? When are we scaling the business or actually doing the job? Beyond the celebratory posts and polished photos, what’s happening behind the scenes? I see a lot of success stories, but rarely any insight into sustained growth or the clients behind these deals. It’s fantastic to celebrate wins, but let's also showcase the grind, the real work, and the ongoing journey. Anyone else feeling this way? PS : The picture has nothing to do with the post.
