Your environment always defines your goals and ambitions in life! Below is a picture of me and my grandfather on my wedding day. My grandfather has always been my strongest believer and I have always trusted his advice ❤️ My grandfather worked between Saudi Arabia and London during his career. He recieved a medal of achievement from King Fahad for his work 🇸🇦 He always showed me that medal and his picture with King Fahad as a way to inspire me to always put 110% in everything. He pushed me to leave London (even though I was doing well) and move to the Middle East even though it meant me being away from him to chase my dreams here in the Middle East as he always said this is the region to make your dreams a reality 💭 Remember to always listen to those who have experienced life as they can guide you to turn your dreams into a reality. I am an analyst at heart and it is interesting to see financial events unfold, especially as you start to notice trends 📈 One key trend I've observed in the past decade, particularly in the last 2 years since moving from London to Dubai, is the shift of capital from the West towards the East ➡️ An eye-opening announcement was made on August 2nd, as Bloomberg reported the collaboration between the Saudi backed PIF and 6 financial institutions in China. This partnership aims to inject 50 billion USD into funding debt, equity, and ETFs, reinforcing the flow of capital towards the East 🇸🇦🇨🇳 Subsequently, recessionary fears triggered a US stock market crash on August 5th, leading to a significant sell-off. This event is likely to prompt investors to diversify their funds towards regions with promising growth prospects such as Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. 🌍🌏 The recent sequence of events underscores the importance of location in wealth creation. It is very interesting to see how the Mineral industry and specifically, the Aluminium industry is transforming with Digital technologies! Automation, IoT, Robotics processes automation, Big Data and System integration across the industry with Aluminium 4.0 becoming a reality. Currently, the GCC market produces around 1.56 million tonnes of Aluminium in the last quarter which is a 4% increase on the previous quarter. Many people don't understand the value of language/كثير من الناس لا يفهمون قيمة اللغة .... When i moved to Dubai 2 years ago from London, everyone said the following "No worries Salman, everyone speaks English, no need to learn Arabic here". To an extent, you are correct. HOWEVER, If you really want to progress in a career & lifestyle here in the Middle East, the value of learning Arabic is extremely important as an expat. Language gives you access to leaders which gives you access to opportunities. I am now 15 hours of Arabic lessons completed with another 15 hours scheduled over the next 4 weeks.
