Trainees Take the Lead and Organize Salomon’s Sustainability Week!
This 5th edition of Salomon’s annual Sustainability Week was a huge success, thanks to our trainees' hard work and dedication! They took charge from start to finish, organizing and communicating an array of activities that brought our employees together to celebrate and promote sustainable practices (special thanks to our social media marketing intern for lending her voice to this video Salomé MOUGEL 🙌).
From the excitement of the bike bus and the insightfulness of the conference with Victor Daviet and Gaëtan Gaudissard about climate issues in winter sports to the creativity of the upcycling workshops, every event was thoughtfully planned to raise awareness, inspire, and educate.
A big thank you to all our interns for their passion and commitment. Here’s to many more inspiring events in the future!

"How did you get started in event sustainability?"
It's a question I often hear that doesn't have a one-size-fits-all answer.
Like choosing a career path, navigating the journey towards event sustainability is filled with twists and turns.
Honestly, my journey has been anything but linear.
Likewise, finding your footing in event sustainability requires exploration, experimentation, and a willingness to learn.
Most of us go through the same learnings:
→ What sustainable materials can be used
→ Building a network of green suppliers
→ Figuring out who the sustainability champions are
→ Finding a place to start
→ Learning how to measure
And now, I'm a passionate advocate for sustainable events, too.
So, let's rethink the idea of having green events all figured out from the word 'Go'.
Instead, let's embrace the journey, knowing each experience brings us closer to our goals.
Where are you on your journey?

Kerakoll is not only committed to building better places to live, but committed to building a conscious future for all. Becoming a B-CORP company means, for us, generating value through our projects, protecting the environment, the people and the community for both today and tomorrow.
We held our Kerakoll 2024 Convention at the beginning of March where, as part of that, we presented our sustainability journey; the milestones we have achieved to date, and our path to shaping a more sustainable future.
To align with our values, we wanted to ensure that the event itself was sustainable! We considered all elements from the venue and location, using virtual resources to hold planning meetings, offering shared modes of transport, reusing existing props, reusable giveaways and sourcing local suppliers.
If you want to host more sustainable events then take a look at what we did, or if you just want to know where you can start with becoming more sustainable, here are some tips...

Reflecting on an inspiring Monday during International Sustainability Week at Vistula! 🌍
We had the honor of hosting a dynamic panel discussion with ambassadors from Austria, Belgium, Brazil, and Colombia, delving into the pivotal topic of 'The role of member states toward sustainability'.
It was a vibrant exchange of ideas, highlighting the collective responsibility and diverse approaches toward building a greener, more sustainable future.
Let's keep the dialogue alive and the actions impactful! 💚

"Same as it ever was, same as it ever was"
Most of you are now starting to plan your budgets for your events for 2024 but are you also planning to make them sustainable.
I am trying to get the conversation going but more importantly, the action going. I am on the Sustainability committee of the EDPA. I proposed that we set the standards to build all exhibits for events with sustainable components by the year 2035 or sooner, and it was passed. Our committee as been working on writing the standards for the last 6 months and we are presenting this to the industry later this month.
We produce exhibits this way and I am pushing for our entire industry to do so also. It is only one step, but we all need to do our part.

that is all we have and it does not have to be, time to make a change, time to stop talking, time to take action!
It does not have to be:
"Same as it ever was, same as it ever was"
