☎️ Our dispatch line is the critical first step in connecting those in need with essential resources. Our dedicated dispatch team works tirelessly to manage non-emergency, homelessness-related calls, ensuring that the right help reaches those who need it most. When community members or individuals experiencing homelessness call in, our dispatchers prioritize, assign, and resolve each situation by deploying outreach teams directly to the point of need. This approach allows us to deliver immediate support, whether it's shelter referrals, housing assistance, or vital services—right where it's needed. Together, we’re bridging the gap between those in need and the resources that can change their lives. 🧡 #homelessnessresponse #communitysupport #hopecenter #outreach #orangecounty #dispatch #homelessness #housing

From U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's 2023 Annual Homelessness Assessment Report: "More than one in five people experiencing #homelessness on a single night in 2023 was age 55 or older...Nearly half of adults age 55 or older (46%) were experiencing unsheltered homelessness in places not meant for human habitation." I don't know about you, but the thought of a senior citizen like Harold living on the street is unconscionable. The #affordablehousing we at THA are able to provide is a vital start but isn't enough to meet the need. The time to act is now. Read HUD's full report here: https://lnkd.in/gmNuZR6n.
While the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development 2023 Annual Homelessness Assessment Report reveals many disheartening statistics, we want to call out the fact that in the U.S. more than one in five people experiencing #homelessness on a single night in 2023 (as part of the Point in Time Count) was age 55 or older. Senior homelessness is close to our heart here at THA, as we offer four housing communities for Tulsa's elderly and those with disabilities. Seniors like Harold, Liz and Debra. We're privileged to provide a home for the holidays for Tulsa's most vulnerable and we hope to expand our capacity to do so with the support of our community. #creatingabettertulsa

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's Continuums of Care (CoCs) nationwide are required to conduct a Point-in-Time (PIT) count of people experiencing homelessness at least every other year. The PIT Count survey which helps get an accurate count of the area’s homeless population begins tonight and is lead in our community by the Collaborative Housing Solutions of Northwest Montana between Jan. 25 and Feb. 1. There are events held throughout the week as well that aim to provide helpful resources and connect people with services while also asking where they slept the night of Jan. 25, in addition to follow-up questions.
