My circle is growing and I am shocked with the number of suicides I hear about on a regular basis. Yes. I think we need to reduce the negative stigma around Metal Illness and embrace that it's okay to not be okay. I also think we need to STOP being okay with NOT doing anything. Mental Symptoms left unaddressed grow into something more severe... Mental Illness... chronic, dibilitating, and deadly. Undiagnosed or untreated issues can grow into a significant disease. We all have the power to listen. Reach out and ask how someone is doing. Pay attention to how people are acting. Take time to care. Victorious Veteran If the American dream is freedom, we have witnessed a terrible cloud affecting this for our heroes. It's called the broken Veteran narrative, and it needs to go. We are tired of seeing you suffer beneath society's idea of you. You attempt to live in a world that mischaracterizes and thus mistreats you. Brokenness, isolation, alcoholism, homelessness, disability, PTSD, suicide, the list goes on. The world has reduced you to these things. Simply listen, and you will see. We see it all the time - in videos, on social media, in the news, from politicians, from nonprofits - and we are sick and tired of this broken Veteran narrative going unchecked. Once, you were revered, without judgment and shame. People weren't scared of you. They celebrated you! As Warriors, you graced our streets, nurtured your families, and lived in peace. United, we will be there again. But it comes first by living from who you are, a warrior, a protector, and more. You are also a son or daughter, friend, spouse, father or mother, and leader. You are brave, self-sacrificing, evolving, honable, and capable. This list lives more deeply in you than any inventory of issues. We are doing everything we can to tear that old narrative down so you can thrive that much more. The time is now. Your dreams matter. PRE-CHRISTMAS MESSAGE   Particularly (and I insist this is a PERSONAL OPINION) we are living in recent years the greatest crisis in human relationships (of all kinds) in history. The number of people (especially the elderly) living alone is alarming. There are studies that show that the situation of LONELINESS ends up having psychological consequences and in some cases reduces life expectancy.   The number of separations or breakups in marriages or relationships is truly frightening. The overall mental health of the population has worsened to unprecedented levels. And the prospects for growth in these three areas do not bode well. And yet we are in the midst of the greatest technological revolution in history. In theory (and I say in theory) it should have improved and enhanced relations (of all kinds). I am a firm supporter of "Back to the Basics", at least in some aspects.   I believe that we have created needs (that we do not need) and have added too much COMPLEXITY to the already COMPLEX socioeconomic SYSTEM in which we live. More and more "silos" are being created, if you will allow me to use the expression, mainly as a result of the most extreme INDIVIDUALISM that society has adopted (especially in recent years).   I believe that this attitude of continuing in this way in a sustained manner over time will probably lead us to self-destruction, something that I think would go against our own nature (or would it?). Because if there is one thing the human race is, it is SOCIAL BEINGS.   The human being is a SOCIAL ANIMAL. We need others to survive. But there are factors (which I am going to skip) that have perverted and intruded into our own DNA. And that have joined a crisis of VALUES that has been degenerating in recent years.   That is why I believe (I insist it is a PERSONAL OPINION) that Christmas (especially in the last years) has become an absolute hypocrisy of false transitory "goodness" (again it is a PERSONAL OPINION) that in most cases is only "justified" by the enjoyment of the little ones (by the way, very good reason) and that in no way has continuity from January 6th, except for people who live it intensely being believers.   The funny thing is that we all agree that "EVERYONE IS ON THEIR OWN" (at least the people I talk to about it) but we don't really do anything to change our attitude.   I LEAVE YOU WITH AN IMAGE LINKED TO THE GROUP WE WORK WITH (HOMELESS PEOPLE) THAT I THINK WOULD REPRESENT (THEORETICALLY) THE SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS.   https://lnkd.in/d29mGYF3   I hope that next year will bring us less (extreme) individualism and more values (or part of them) will be recovered to prevent us from becoming "extinct" as a species.   Have a Merry Christmas.

The last few weeks I have great joy & great loss. Someone dear to my heart died far too young. Generational trauma means we lose humans too soon.  Several others broke through generational trauma & graduated! 🙌🏼 One had all their prayers answered & married their love.  Hallelujah & grace is good! 🙏🏼 In mist of it all, I cried tears of sadness & joy. Both at the same time. All my history came up.  The cornerstone of recovery is that I forgive, love & accept myself in the moments.  Lived experience means that I don’t deny what my life history is. I don’t deny any part of me. Recovery for all humans lives in forgiveness & acceptance of what is.  I watch heartbreak daily as I serve community. It unfolds in the silos, separation  & cracks of an under resourced community. Living in a system of poverty is just like growing up in poverty.  Choose generational growth. It will require letting go of ego. Humility is beautiful. It leaves room for grace, love & forgiveness.  We all fail. There are no perfect humans. We are all just walking each other home. The most certain thing we have is that we will all die. May we love ourselves big so it pours out into the world. 🌍  We have the power to change the game. If we unite, let that sink in. What could we do together to heal our community? Collective community action is powerful.

We're thankful for the ways you tried true freedom to us give;We're thankful that for twenty years you helped us how to live. You gave us schools so we could learn to study and to dream;You gave our women status and restored to them esteem. You gave us peace, security unlike we'd known before;You gave us clinics, medicine, assistance and much more. Although the war did not succeed and did not go as planned,We hope you won't abandon us--withdraw from us your hand. We need not soldiers nor your guns nor drones above our sky;We need not battles in our towns where more your children die. We need your help in wintertime when homes are filled with cold;We need your help with NGOs so daughters are not sold. We need your help with politics to influence our laws; We need your help in human rights support us in our cause.We need your help with borders so endangered ones can leave;They need to be resettled, find a place of true reprieve. So much was gained in twenty years, but now's been lost in two;We try our best, but must confess, we still have need of you.We understand how much you've done and do no not criticize;We humbly seek compassion asking please don't close your eyes. #StopHazaraGenocide

It is disheartening to witness homeless veterans and families in America. It is evident that some people treat the country as their personal property, which is happening simultaneously with the rise of oligarchs and a capitalist system that has turned the country into a miserable place. The sad reality is that we have become a horror show, and it is high time for change. We are spending money on the vacations, homes, cars, and education of foreign countries. It is time to reclaim our nation from the guests who have overstayed their welcome. I refuse to let my daughter grow up in a world like The Hunger Games. People should come before profits. We need a new index for success. I demand a happiness index for American citizens. Let's talk about Universal Basic Income (UBI), machine labor, research and development of medicine, our oil, and other natural resources. Where is my share? I want a return on my investment, and I do not want to see anyone suffer unnecessarily. Stop treating us like slaves and making money off the poor and vulnerable. It is enough, my God. Will you never be satisfied? Or in the end, will you make our children fight over the ashes of a kingdom you burned? Then their eyes turned to another planet to seed and destroy... Will we never learn. We have been here before, we'll be here again because we never understand who we are, what we are nor why we're here.

Everything begins with love. Love for thyself. Love for thy neighbor. Love for community. For once we humans believe that we are worthy of love, we give and allow ourselves to receive it. We then allow ourselves to seek and receive connection and in doing so we allow our true selves to emerge and then an interesting thing happens. The world reciprocates. This is very difficult for us when we are children of trauma, pain and abuse. Trauma from housing instability. Pain from hunger. Abuse from those that we require love from because they too were once children of pain, suffering and abuse. As a society, As a community, As leaders, It is our obligation to ensure that each of us has our basic needs met. Housing is our foundational need and so that is where I serve. I believe that housing is a human right. So that trauma, pain and abuse does not steal our belief in our society, in our selves and so most importantly it does not steal our belief that we are indeed worthy of love and opportunity. A strong foundation. A home. A loving family and friends. An education. A vibrant and diverse community.
