I am impressed by #perplexity AI - I have experienced a lower rate of hallucination vs. other LLMs, answers are concise and the ability to find good sources (which are relevant to the query) is fast building my confidence. They are (rightly) obsessed with building a product experience which drives you back time and time again. From a recent finance interview their CEO Aravind said "Our value proposition is that the free product is already so good that you can still use it without having to pay for it, but the paid product is going to be insane" I have been following the company since it founded in August 2022 under the leadership of Aravind Srinivas and it is going from strength to strength. The AI search startup has raised $73.6 million in a funding round led by IVP and including Jeff Bezos, NEA, NVIDIA, Databricks, and Bessemer Venture Partners at a $520 million valuation. Startup Essential AI has raised $56.5 million in funding — including funds from tech heavyweights AMD, Google, and Nvidia — showcasing the increasing investment in companies rushing to meet demand for generative AI products designed to improve business processes.The company, founded this year, had previously raised $8.3 million in seed capital, but has stayed in stealth mode up to now, announcing today its fresh funding round and its goals.
