A new sustainability and resilience mindset is necessary to future-proof infrastructure from climate change's impacts and shifting societal expectations, experts said at Duke University during a March panel discussion. My session on the 18th with Betsy Agar, Josh Lewis, CEM, CMVP, Laurna Strikwerda, is called Developing the Market Labour, Equipment, and Service Supply for Decarbonization. Electrification is a viable pathway to achieving net zero, but realizing its full potential and driving investment into the right electrification products, solutions, and services requires us to develop a deeper understanding of the economic opportunities. While electrification presents a tremendous market opportunity in terms of jobs, product sales, and services, current labour shortages, construction and retrofit business models, and product supply could all potentially slow the pace of decarbonization.
