2024 LIFT INTELLIGENT WATER SYSTEMS CHALLENGE Registration window is now open. Sign up today! The 2024 Intelligent Water Systems Challenge has officially begun! Today’s water industry operates complex treatment, collection, and distribution systems to protect public and ecological health. These systems are increasingly instrumented to monitor key process indicators and other parameters to facilitate operations. The Water Environment Federation (WEF) and The Water Research Foundation (WRF) LIFT program is holding the LIFT Intelligent Water Systems Challenge to demonstrate the value to utilities of these “intelligent water systems”. The Challenge seeks to foster the adoption of smart water technologies by showcasing the ability of intelligent water systems to effectively leverage data for better decisions. Learn how together Xylem & City of South Bend cut sewer overflows, saved costs and delivered on environmental targets 💚💧👍🏻 The results of our partnership with the city have been transformative, read more @ https://lnkd.in/et9__Ts6 🤝🏻 🦾 By leveraging digital technologies like smart sensors, we were able to tell continuously how to best manage each sewer’s capacity. 💰From a pure numbers perspective, the city spent $400 million less than originally expected. For South Bend, with a population of just over 100,000, if they hadn’t optimised their system by working with Xylem, the original cost estimate would have equated to about $10,000 per citizen.
