Interesting short introductory video on LMR study - still in the scoping phase. The Mississippi River is changing, and we are experiencing both higher and lower water levels, leading to more frequent opening of the Bonnet Carre Spillway but also saltwater intrusion from the Gulf of Mexico. What impacts will the deepening of the River from 45 to 50 feet, uncontrolled crevasses like Neptune Pass, future planned diversions, and a host of upstream factors like dams have on the water and sediment budget of the River and how will this impact the already fragile Birdfoot Delta?
