Transforming Hospitality Technology with Strategic Sales & Solution Design Expertise | Leader in Revenue Management Solutions

Part 1: Celebrating the Influential Leaders in My Journey As I mark my ten-year milestone at IDeaS, I realize how much this journey has shaped me personally and professionally. I’m not one to write long posts (although this had to be broken up into three pieces because I had more to say than I realized), nor am I known for being sentimental, but this feels like a moment worthy of reflection. In reflecting on a decade at IDeaS, I’m reminded of the incredible leaders who have shaped my career and guided me through the challenges and triumphs. Jane Stampe was the most inspiring leader regarding being herself. She taught me I could be a sales professional while maintaining my unique personality. As a trailblazer in technology, especially as an LGBTQ+ woman from the early days, Jane was always there to help and support me. She inspired everyone around her not through force, but by genuinely believing in her team and offering unwavering support. I’ll never forget how she made everyone feel valued and capable—a rare and special gift in a leader. Russ Stanziale has taught me more about being a people leader than anyone else at IDeaS. His genuine care for the people who work here, combined with his consistent drive for growth and innovation, has left a lasting impact on me. I still remember when he promoted me to Director of the SE team and trusted me to lead, organize, and globalize the team in my own way, without interfering. Russ is a true storyteller, and he’s shown me the value of shared experiences in leadership. It’s these stories that remind me of the kind of leader I aspire to be, even if I bore my future colleagues with them occasionally. Garth Peterson and I share uncommon commonalities and a true passion for IDeaS and our products. No one else knows the struggle of NYC cab nausea like he and I do! Garth consistently asks challenging questions and pushes me to think creatively about innovative solutions. Our shared experiences, both in and out of work, have forged a bond that goes beyond just being colleagues. I’m grateful for the friendship and the countless lessons I’ve learned from working with him. These leaders have not only influenced my career but also left a lasting imprint on my personal growth. I’m forever grateful for their support and mentorship. Here’s to the next chapter, inspired by the lessons they’ve imparted. Stay tuned for Part 2 next week!

While these words are lovely, the best tribute you pay to them is actually how you apply these lessons in leading our team.

We’ll said, and I am very proud of you!

Sam, you always challenged me in a good way, nudged me to be thoughtful, and accepted my feedback. Your ability to accept coaching was/is a delight, a quality that inspires those around you to feed your professional & personal growth. Just imagine how satisfying the next 10 years will be for you, IDeaS & your partners!

Sam, you are a great leader and a great friend. I remember the days that show up in the photos above. They are just two of the many great business trips that you and I have taken to go spend time with prospects and clients. All that matters at the end of our careers will be the people we have met along the way, and you are one of the most remarkable in my journey so far.
