In Preparation for the upcoming Maternal, newborn, and Child Health (MNCH) Week in Kebbi State , we had a roundtable discussion on the lessons learned and challenges encountered from the previous MNCHWs and deliberated on possible solutions. MNCH Week (MNCHW) is a week-long event organized by the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), State Primary Health Care Development agencies, and the State Ministries of Health, in collaboration with partners. The week delivers an integrated package of highly cost-effective and curative services/interventions such as - antenatal care, a package of preventive nutrition services, and immunization to strengthen the routine primary health care services. I was privileged to have anchored the discussion and also provided the necessary contribution in terms of commodity requirements and supply chain. #Logistics #MNCH #supplychain

"I am delighted to announce the publication of my research paper, 'Correlation between hemoglobin levels of mothers and children aged less than two years attending the immunization clinics in Puducherry: a cross-sectional analytical study' in the International Journal of Community Medicine & Public Health (IJCMPH). Delving into the intriguing connection between maternal and childhood anemia while also examining anemia's household co-occurrence. This marks a significant milestone in my academic journey. I have immense gratitude to my outstanding co-authors for their support throughout the study period. Some ideas about conducting clinical Audits in Basic Health units or rural health centre primary care level 1) Antenatal Care Services: Evaluate the quality of antenatal care services provided to pregnant women, including adherence to antenatal care guidelines, availability of essential tests and screenings, and timely referrals for high-risk pregnancies. 2)Immunization Coverage: Assess the coverage and timeliness of routine childhood immunizations in the catchment area of the health center, identifying barriers to immunization uptake and opportunities for improvement. 3)Emergency Obstetric Care: Assess the readiness and capacity of the health center to provide emergency obstetric care services, including availability of skilled staff, essential supplies, and referral mechanisms for obstetric emergencies. #audit #clinical #plab #nhs #mrcs

Dementia-related deaths rose substantially during the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic but fell in the second year. COVID-19 vaccines and fewer deaths among nursing home and long-term care residents contributed to the decrease.
