#Keynote Talk #Workshop on Energy Efficient Trustworthy Sustainable Edge-Cloud Computing  In conjunction with IEEE Cloudnet 2023 3 November 2023, New York Area, USA Title: Towards Zero-Energy Zero-Trust AI Edge Computing Abstract: Edge computing systems of late are faced with multiple constraints such as limited resources (compute, storage, bandwidth, energy, etc.) coupled with additional requirements such as zero trust, sustainability, and resilience. These constraints are frequently at odds with each other such that conflicting constraints have to be met simultaneously. This results in interesting problems related to joint system optimization coupled with learning and prediction to enable effective decision-making. Digital twin models can help in the efficient design of such systems so that they can take intelligent dynamic decisions proactively. The talk will cover these interesting challenges in design of emerging edge computing systems. Speaker Bio: Dilip Krishnaswamy received a PhD degree in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He has deep experience in the architecture, design & development of engineering platforms & products, and has led engineering teams at Intel, Qualcomm, IBM and Reliance Jio. I am glad to share our last contribution: "Misconfiguration in O-RAN: Analysis of the impact of AI/ML." The paper presents a study of potential misconfigurations in Open Radio Access Networks (O-RAN) with specific insights into how Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) is deployed in O-RAN and the consequent impact of misconfiguration. O-RAN enables innovation in 5G networks by introducing software-defined networking (SDN), network function virtualization (NFV), the RAN intelligent controller (RIC), and AI/ML. The integration of these technologies into O-RAN may result in serious misconfigurations reducing the system performance and increasing security vulnerabilities. This work provides insights into such misconfigurations and illustrates how they may affect various system components. Insights into how AI/ML is deployed in O-RAN are specifically addressed in the analysis with presentation of the potential challenges along with O-RAN misconfiguration detection methods and how AI/ML enhances them. Tech innovators spearhead the evolution of next wave of energy storage solutions in the quest for the ultimate battery. A fusion of AI and quantum computing accelerates the discovery of sustainable solutions for climate change and energy crises. In a recent development, Microsoft has teamed with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)’s Pacific Northwest National Laboratory to propel scientific discovery and sustainable energy research by combining cutting-edge AI models with high-performance computing (HPC). Single DFT calculations can take minutes, with geometric optimization and molecular dynamics (MD) simulations escalating processing expenses significantly. Exploring a vast range of stable materials calls for inventive methodologies.   Key contributors combine new material property prediction AI models with #HPC calculations to digitally screen candidates for improved battery materials.
