Appears that Google has delivered on its eCDN solution that had been anticipated since its acquisition of Strivecast two years ago. eCDNs are important because they manage video loads behind-the-firewall in a way that enables companies to do large in-house webcasts without crashing the network. I have not briefed with Alexander Schäfer or Christopher Probst-Ranly on this yet. But blog post seems to indicate that this solution will work in conjunction with the Google Meet platform. Also no mention of pricing, so it appears that this eCDN can be implemented at no additional cost to existing Google enterprise users. This is a sneakily important announcement in a world where AI is making video an increasingly vital piece of the business workflow. Google Meet API now available in Developer Preview Developers can now use the Google Meet API.
