National HIV Testing Week starts today! HIV affects everyone - more straight people are now being diagnosed with HIV than gay people. But despite this, Newfoundland research has shown that almost three quarters of straight people have never taken an HIV test. Read more about this and what it means to be diagnosed with HIV in the journal section of our website (https://lnkd.in/eY_wjn3f). Oh, and please get tested! #HIVTestingWeek #GetTested #HIV #HIVtest

🤔 Did you know that 86% of the 39 million people living with HIV in 2022 were aware of their HIV status? We can end HIV by raising awareness, as people living with HIV can achieve undetectable and hence untransmittable viral loads with effective treatment. Fast and accurate HIV viral load testing informs patients of their status and allows for optimized antiretroviral treatment. We are committed to helping healthcare professionals provide rapid and precise HIV load testing. Learn more 👉 https://lnkd.in/gWRBSugS #HIV #AIDS #aidsawareness #WorldAIDSday

While new HIV infections declined by 3.6% globally from 2020-2021, data from the 2022 Global AIDS Monitoring Report released by Malaysia’s Ministry of Health showed that the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted community-based HIV screening and prevention activities. Overall, there were 2,760 new HIV infections in 2021 in Malaysia. Consistent condom use protects against STIs including HIV. Share this post, and let's raise more awareness this World AIDS Day. Together, we can stop the spread. #sexualhealth #publichealth #sexualhealthawareness #malaysia #sexeducation #hiv #aids #aidsawareness

Did you know that 49 out of 50 people living with HIV in the UK cannot transmit the virus? That's 98%. This is because they are on successful treatment and the virus is suppressed. And that means their viral load – the key indicator of HIV in a test – is 'undetectable'. Undetectable = Untransmittable U = U — ♻️ Share this to help reduce HIV stigma — #HIV #undetectable #didyouknow Source: gov.uk [HIV testing, PrEP, new HIV diagnoses and care outcomes for people accessing HIV services: 2023 report]

Let’s help reduce stigmas relating to HIV - Antiretroviral treatment, or ART works by reducing the amount of the virus in the blood to undetectable levels. This means the levels of HIV are so low that the virus cannot be passed on. This is called having an undetectable viral load or being undetectable. Undetectable = Untransmissable.

It’s World AIDS Day! This day is dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic. Globally, 1.3 million people became newly infected with HIV in 2022. 9.2 million people living with HIV do not have access to antiretroviral treatment, including 660,000 children! On this day, we remember those who have lost their lives to AIDS-related illness and honor those living with HIV. We honor the incredible individuals advocating for increased education, awareness, and prevention efforts. When was the last time you checked your HIV status? Today is a good day to do that. Stay safe Say no to stigmatization Say no to shame #endingstigma #HIV #HIVAids #Aids #testyourself #aidsday #treatment #symptoms #WorldAidsDay
