Say hi to Hajar!
Coming from the hotel industry, she joined the Abu Dhabi team in September 2020 as a Guest Relations Executive. She was then promoted to Marketing & Events Manager and also supported the Doha opening in 2022. Hajar is now in charge of the marketing and events for both Abu Dhabi and Riyadh.
What motivated you to transition from a position in a hotel to a restaurant?
I have a deep passion for the culinary arts and I wanted to be more directly involved in creating exceptional dining experiences. The dynamic and fast-paced environment of a restaurant offers new challenges and opportunities for personal and professional growth, as well as more frequent and meaningful guests interactions.
What are the main skills you acquired in reception that have helped you the most in your current position?
Exceptional customer service is fundamental to ensuring every guest feels valued and heard. Effective communication with both customers and team members facilitates smooth operations and clear messaging. Multitasking abilities are essential for efficiently managing multiple responsibilities and priorities. Strong problem-solving skills enable quick and effective resolution of any issues that arise. Additionally, a strong attention to detail is crucial for overseeing event logistics and executing successful marketing campaigns.
What challenges have you faced in your position, especially when managing guest relations, marketing and events?
It requires meticulous organization, effective communication across teams, and the ability to prioritize tasks to ensure seamless guest experiences and successful outcomes.
What is your favorite aspect of working as a guest relation?
My favorite aspect of working as a guest relation is the daily interaction with guests, where I can personally ensure they have a memorable experience. I enjoy the challenge of understanding their preferences and exceeding their expectations through personalized service and attention to detail. Building relationships with guests and seeing their satisfaction firsthand is incredibly rewarding and motivates me to continually improve our service standards.
What is your most cherished memory at LPM?
One of my most cherished memories is when I received my last promotion, which reflected the trust and confidence our Director of Operations, Middle East and Asia Alexandra placed in me.
It was a pivotal moment in my career, affirming my hard work and dedication to my role. This recognition not only motivated me further but also strengthened my commitment to achieving excellence in everything I do.
