(CNMI SBDC) — In 2023, the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Small Business Innovation Research/Small Business Technology Transfer or SBIR/STTR programs awarded four billion dollars in seed funding support through eleven government agencies across the nation’s federal sector including the U.S. Department of Defense. Through a highly competitive application process, the SBIR/STTR programs offer unique seed funding opportunities for small businesses and higher institutions of research with innovative ideas to solve government agency problems, and more importantly, have the ability to commercialize their products and/or their research findings in topic areas such as AgTech, artificial intelligence, national security, biotechnology and clean energy, to name a few. https://lnkd.in/gXnihu95

Small Business Innovation - Small Business Technology Transfer The Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) program is a Congressionally authorized small business set-aside established to support scientific excellence and technological innovation through investment of Federal research funds in critical American priorities to build a strong national economy. STTR is a parallel program to the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program with the added requirement that Small Business Concerns (SBCs) partner with colleges/universities, Federally Funded Research and Development Centers (FFRDCs), or qualified non-profit research institutions on cooperative R/R&D. The goal of these programs is to stimulate technological innovation for the Department of Defense (DoD) to maintain technological superiority and military readiness to deter military operations from U.S adversaries by increasing private sector commercialization of Federal R&D to increase competition, productivity, and economic growth. The DoD program encompasses participation from 14 DoD Services and Components, with a combined annual budget of nearly $2 billion. To participate in the DoD SBIR/STTR programs, eligible small businesses with the capability to conduct R/R&D in the published topic areas are encouraged to submit proposals through the DoD’s Broad Agency Announcements (BAAs) and Commercial Solutions Openings (CSOs) #unmanned_news_replicator #sttr_program #pentagon #congress #defenseinnovation #replicator #inovationcommunity #dod_sba_smallbusiness_replicator #govconroundup #linkedin
