The Hidden Hunger Conference in Hohenheim University || ||| The Hidden Hunger Conference of 2023 focuses on a vital and purposeful mission: advancing the provision of school meals as an essential component of food security. This conference sheds light on the primary challenges related to meal diversity and cost, highlighting how school meals address a significant issue faced by many countries. One aspect that particularly captured my attention but was not extensively addressed is the need for security. How can we ensure that student, such as " X," fall under the category of being "food secure"? Is it merely about offering a diverse range of food options? Not exactly. What about food customization? Each person possesses unique dietary requirements to ensure their well-being, growth, and development. Could engaging medical services and customizing food plans lead to healthier and more secure outcomes? The results seem promising, and efficient methods can be employed to achieve satisfactory results. When it comes to hidden hunger, can we truly combat it by offering diverse food options without assessing the individual's level of food security? This question underscores the importance of a comprehensive approach to addressing hidden hunger.

Awarded with the "Minimum dietary diversity for women (MDD-W)" digital badge, through the FAO e-learning Academy. This course equipped me with valuable skills: To identify the required skills collect, analyze and interpret MDD-W data. Although a healthy diet may look different in various parts of the world, depending on local food culture and preferences, the concept of diet quality includes some universal dimensions: Diversity, Balance, Adequacy, and Moderation. Last week, SBNC at Christopher Newport University hosted a successful event in partnership with Virginia Peninsula Foodbank called Food for Thought: A College Student’s Experience. Addressing the pressing issue of food insecurity among students, the groups handed out 150 tote bags of shelf-stable food items. But the impact did not stop there! Here's a snapshot of what we achieved: 1️⃣ Supporting Our Peers: We made an immediate impact by distributing 150 tote bags filled with nutritious food items to students, offering tangible support to those facing food insecurity. 2️⃣ Education and Awareness: SBNC members lead meaningful conversations about the effects of food insecurity on students, raising awareness about the challenges many students face. 3️⃣ Nutrition Knowledge: Equipping students with the knowledge and tools they need to supplement their diets with nutritionally beneficial foods was a central theme of the event. We believe that empowering our fellow students with this knowledge can have a lasting impact on their overall well-being. This event was about addressing immediate needs and setting the stage for a healthier, more secure future for all students. We're proud of our progress in supporting our community and look forward to more initiatives that will make a positive difference. Let's continue to stand together and make an impact that truly matters. 🌟💪 #SBNC #FoodForThought #StudentEmpowerment #CommunitySupport #StudentAdvocacy

Lesson 1 : Ice breaking Situation: We had ice breaking in the first class of PPD1041(Softskills & Basic Volunteerism). Task: We were asked to seat in the group and we were given 20 minutes to introduce ourselves about our name, pet's name, shoe size, allergic, scars and siblings. Action: We ask each other about questions that lecturer given to us and we took a selfie together. Result: I get to know more about my group members and makes new friends from other programme. Reflection: In this session, I able to communicate with other people and its help improve my confident to talk with other people. I really enjoying the first week class.
