It’s okay to be proud of our achievements. It’s so damn hard to celebrate personal achievements without finding some fault in it. For others, we give compliments without even weathering a critique on how they did it.
I am guilty of this and I am being particularly careful about the criticism I give myself or how I talk about my accomplishments, especially in front of my daughter.
What have I achieved and not given myself the least bit the credit for until much later in life?
I’ll name three:
1. I speak, read, and write 6 language, all before the age of 20.
2. I wrote my master’s thesis over a period of 4 years with a demanding full-time job, family obligations, and way too little sleep, and not once did I think it was time to give it up.
3. I solo-traveled and lived in various places around the world without hesitation and fear.
Share your 3 achievements in the comments and let go of that obnoxious critic within too.

“It isn’t arrogant to say “I’m really proud of the work I’ve done.” In fact, it’s an act of service to yourself 👏
