Is it going to be the state? If it is, they’re either going to jail or they’re going to a state mental institution. Neither is a viable option. What guardianship does is it gives you the power, it gives you the authority, and it gives you the right to save your loved one when they can’t make the decision to save themselves. #guardianship #mentalhealth #mentalillness #recovery

Making meaningful reforms to the criminal justice system and police culture in the U.S. isn’t going to happen in a vacuum. If we want safer communities and a criminal justice system that is fair and equitable for all, we have to work together. This change will be grassroots, but if we prioritize community resources, the use of mental health professionals and social development, we can make our cities safer and prevent crime in the first place.
