👋Hello again, In my previous post, I talked about using ElevenLabs to create an audiobook as a bonus for my Christmas picture book. Here’s a sample of what it will sound like. When I listen to the audio for “The 12 Nights of Christmas” book, it makes me both want to sip a cup of hot cocoa and to curl up under a blanket by a fire and take a nap. ☕️🎄 🌟When you try it, here’s an ElevenLabs tip to make you feel like an expert from the start: Add space - and another space to create an emphatic pause. (Example: I went to the store. - That’s when I discovered…) 🌟One more tip: If you need a list read, but you don’t want it to sound like a list, write a sentence before the list in the tone you want, as ElevenLabs reads what you’ve written in its entirety before producing the output. Ex: I was so angry. Then list—You’ll get an angry reading of the list. Here's 7 tips (that you can start applying today): #1: Set goals: longer term, then mini ones - i.e. 4 books per year / 1 per quarter. #2: You don't need a lot of time - commit to just 10-15 minutes a day. #3: Read subjects of interest, and sprinkle in new topics you're curious about. #4: Join or start a book club with friends or colleagues. #5: Track your progress - you can try a tracker like StoryGraph. #6: Experiment with formats: physical book vs audiobook vs graphic novels. #7: Start small and work your way up - short stories & magazines, then go big.
