Happy new year, connections. Here's my predicted top 5 pain points facing recruitment in the shoreside sector of yachting in 2024! 🥂 *Yacht Management - the candidate supply is almost dry UK/EU. Where/how do we find candidates with the requisite experience, especially around financial and budgetary management? *The USA - good luck trying to hire for anything shoreside in the States if you're relying on job ads alone. Everyone has an office there now but... tumbleweed *Builds - yards, management companies and consultancies are all going to be exposed by a rapidly diminishing supply chain of people *Brexit - just ask anyone with a British passport trying to work abroad *Sales/Charter - lots of rookies, nowhere near enough established candidates with nous, know-how and networks So what do we do? Working in recruitment i see a lot of cv’s. Yachties are more personal and describe themselves with what they offer as a person. Commercial usually list the vessels and give very little personal information. To break into the world of yachts you really have to sell who you are and what you offer.

Day 9/21 days: Check for vacancies in your dream airline (refer to Day 1 video). Submit your application and wait for the response. You will receive an email from the airline within 2-3 weeks. 🔅Round 1: Virtual/Online interview. Be prepared for an announcement reading test, behavioral and situational-based questions. It will be a pre-recorded session. Ensure you have great internet connectivity, no disturbance in the background while giving the interview, keep a white or plain background, and full grooming is mandatory. Face-to-Face Interview: 📌The interview process will be 2-3 days depending on the crowd. 🔅Round 2: Submit your resume and impress HR with an amazing introduction. They can also ask basic questions such as Why this airline? Why cabin crew? etc. 🔅Round 3: English Assessment happens in all international airlines. It contains a grammar test, vocabulary, essay writing, comprehension, and dialogue delivery. 🔅Round 4: Scars, marks, and tattoos check. All airlines are very particular about criteria. While declaring, please be honest. Ensure you mention any medical conditions (only if you have any). Most airlines are fine with BMI; however, kindly refer to their website for more details. 🔅Round 5: Panel/Personal Interview (toughest round). There will be 3-5 candidates sitting next to each other, and HR might ask you questions about your background, resume, airlines, behavioral, and situational-based questions. 🔅Round 6: Personal Interview or Swimming test. Swimming is a must for international airlines except Qatar Airways. During your swimming test, you have to swim for 25 meters without any assistance and help one person board the craft.
