Thanks Epic Games for a great Unreal Fest here in Gold Coast! The community engagement and energy speaks to the great opportunities possible via the Unreal ecosystem. Community and Ecosystem: the 2 pillars for success! I had a blast mingling with technical creatives again, hooking up with past and new friends from Wētā FX, and making new connections. I’ll be exploring more in how Unreal can help the #AECO and digital twin industry. See you next year at #UnrealFestANZ !

I think Unity DOTS is wild. For those who don’t know DOTS stands for Data-Oriented Technology Stack. DOTS changes how Unity handles game data, allowing for significant performance improvements. By organizing data in a more streamlined way, DOTS can make games run anywhere from 10 to 100 times faster! That's a huge leap forward. I think in Large-scale projects like Genshin Impact and AA games, R&D . DOTS will be super useful. But it comes at a cost as it’s very complicated to implement and not worth enough if your project is small like 1 GB or less! In summary, Unity DOTS is wild, but its impact depends on the scale and complexity of your project. #unity #DOTS #21dayschallenge (Article2)

About Unity's recent announcement: First, they started with an apology. Second, they've listened to feedback. Third, they acknowledged that they should have talked with their customers sooner and with more of them. (By the way, how different this would have been if they did? See P.S. section) Fourth, they are trying now to overdeliver in some ways even compared to their initial pricing structure. Fifth, they provide more details about the Runtime Fee with a detailed article, an overview image (screenshot), and a Runtime Fee Calculator (see comments for links). Sixth, they have a channel of communication (YouTube Live Chat) to spread the changes, reassure people, and resolve any scenarios that they were spreading online from confused game devs. But most importantly to see if their customers are okay with these new changes, and based on their reactions/feedback perhaps willing to make additional improvements, maybe. Is the customers' trust in Unity lost forever? Time will show. P.S. If they had talked to their customers sooner (and ofc provided a better pricing structure based on that), perhaps they wouldn't have lost 3B dollars in a few days in the public market. They could even gain a few billions. Perhaps... #Unity #Unity3d #RuntimeFee
