Complex CVT transmissions in KISSdesign ® Continuously variable transmissions are used in construction machinery, buses, tractors, and electric bicycles. Typically, a continuously variable variator (hydrostatic in this case) is combined with a geared transmission. In KISSdesign, the geared transmission part is modelled in detail, and the variator is defined as a general power transmission element. This allows the kinematics of the entire CVT transmission to be modelled. The geared part is accessible for design, optimization, and rating with the KISSsoft modules integrated into KISSdesign.
