A year ago today, as an intern at Wasserman Media Group, I found myself in a fireside chat with golf executives when the news of the LIV Golf and PGA Tour merger broke. The announcement sent shockwaves across social media, igniting a pandemonium of predictions that these two giants of the men’s professional game would remain at odds. Today, the divide remains evident, highlighted by the contrasting spectacles of the PGA Tour’s Memorial Tournament in Ohio and LIV Golf’s Houston event. As an Entry-level DE&I Cultural Strategist, I’ve observed firsthand the challenges and missed opportunities in bridging such divides. The ongoing stalemate underscores the complexities of merging not just organizations but cultures and visions. Personal Take 👩🏾💻 ⛳ : To create a more inclusive framework for the merger, my approach would focus on integrating the core values and strengths of both organizations. This means fostering a culture of open dialogue and mutual respect, where diverse perspectives are not just heard but actively integrated into decision-making processes. By leveraging DE&I principles, we can build a unified vision that honors the rich histories of both the PGA Tour and LIV Golf while paving the way for a new era of innovation and inclusivity in the sport. In this new era, we would create joint events that celebrate diversity, implement shared governance structures, and develop community engagement initiatives that reflect our commitment to inclusion. This year, the Midis team ventured into the heart of Latgale for a day filled with adventure, camaraderie, and growth. 📍 Ludza: Our day began with thrilling orienteering activities, pushing us to navigate and collaborate effectively. It was a fantastic way to build our teamwork and problem-solving skills right from the start. 🎯 Cibla: The excitement continued with paintball and mini-golf. These activities not only brought out our competitive spirit but also reinforced the importance of strategic thinking and coordination. We then enjoyed a delicious lunch, giving us a chance to relax and recharge. 🔥 Latgolys šmakovka: Our adventure was not complete without a visit to the Latgolys šmakovka, where we learned about local traditions and enjoyed a unique cultural experience. ☕ Cafe Panna: We concluded the day at the charming Cafe Panna, where we reflected on the day's activities and enjoyed some much-needed relaxation. 💡 Our activities were carefully designed to achieve key objectives: 🤝 Fostering mutual understanding and trust: Engaging in interactive exercises helped us appreciate each other's unique skills and perspectives, strengthening our spirit of cooperation. 📚 Information transfer and sharing: Team-building activities facilitated seamless knowledge sharing among our talented IT professionals, promoting growth and development. 📝 Planning and role assignment: We honed our planning and organizational skills, demonstrating the power of teamwork by effectively assigning roles and strategizing for each task. 🎨 Developing initiative and creativity: The day's activities stimulated our creativity and unlocked our collective potential, inspiring us to think outside the box and innovate. #MidisEvents #TeamBuilding #LatgaleAdventures

It's almost Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity time and I am PUMPED! Growing up, so many people used to tell me to surround yourself with smarter and better people than you. And I didn't fully understand what that meant until I started building a business. When you're around people who challenge you, that's where you grow the most. By going to Cannes, I know it'll be exactly that - being challenged by some of the best people in the industry. That's what you need to be better every single day. That's why we're so ready to put ourselves in an environment where everything around you is better than what you're currently doing - the people, their approach to work and the type of work they produce. I'm looking forward to soaking it all up like a sponge or a lion cub... And I think there's really three big categories in the workforce that you can change quickly and see results from: mindset, skill set and tool set. By being at Cannes, I'm confident that we'll be exposing and opening up our mindset. Not to mention, the people who go to these events are philanthropic and work on social causes. They see problems in the world and want to actively help solve them. I can't wait to build deeper, meaningful connections with these people, it's not often you get to be around those who make a real difference. The work our team is doing now around brand strategy, creative and messaging absolutely feels like we're getting closer to producing the kind of work that gets submitted for Cannes. T minus a few days until I'm heading to the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity! This event has become an annual adventure filled with business, creativity, media, and marketing.     For the second year in a row, my family is coming along, and I'm super excited to see other executives also bringing their young adult children. It's such a fantastic opportunity for them to see the world through our lens of networking and idea exchange on a global scale. The "Each one teach one" philosophy really shines here. My kids, now high schoolers, learned so much last year as creators, young investors, and curious minds. They attended talks and brand experiences while I was busy working—it was the perfect setup!    The Cannes Lions Festival is incredibly significant as it brings together the most creative minds and influential leaders in media and marketing. My goal is to dive deep into the latest trends, make meaningful connections, and bring fresh, innovative ideas back to my work.    Balancing work and family during this trip is really important to me; just as it is when I'm at home. A goal of mine in 2024 was to be consistent with my routine and how present I am for my family whether traveling or working from home. While I'll be wrapped up in professional activities, my family will get to explore and soak in the festival's diverse offerings. What I've learnt from judging awards Recently, I chaired judging the Asia Pacific Stevie Awards in a couple of categories, and here's my takeaways: ⭐ Proof is key: Surprisingly, many entrants didn't provide attachments to back up their claims. Adding evidence strengthens your case and boosts credibility. ⭐ Show me the money: Whether it's percentage increases or actual dollar figures, seeing the growth adds a whole new level of clarity to your success story. ⭐ Answer the question: If asked about the innovation behind a strategy, it's crucial to be crystal clear about what sets it apart. Don't beat around the bush, highlight exactly what makes your approach unique and innovative. ⭐ Keep it simple: Don't drown your entry with unnecessary jargon or repeat yourself. Bullet points are your friend - make it easy to understand and engage with your message. ⭐ Attention-grabbing title: Give your entry a title that demands attention, whether catchy or a thought-provoking question. Make sure it hooks your audience right off the bat. ⭐ By the way, did you know China's big into art exhibitions? Their mall culture is next level, with tons of captivating displays—it's a whole scene. Have you judged awards or entered any? #steviesawards
