In March of 2013 we won the prestigious GE Ecomagination Prize for our Bombora Wave Power solution. The $100k prize was awarded to us by the then CEO Jeff Immelt. It is still was one of my most memorial career highlights. The $100k came at a time when were were about to fold the idea after 6 years of hard work and no interest in investment. The award gave us the lifeline to secure seed investment and take some financial pressure off. Little did I know the roller coaster it would be. Fast forward 11 years........(to be continued). Exciting Update from Enlit Europe 2023! We're thrilled to share that Sotiris Athanasoulias, an Early Stage Researcher from the MSCA GECKO Innovation and Training Network, represented us at the much-anticipated FEVER (H2020 funded project) final event at Enlit Europe 2023 in Paris. Event Highlight: Final Conference - "Shaping a Greener Future: Digital Solutions for Unlocking Energy Flexibility" Sotiris participated in a thought-provoking panel discussion titled "Common Challenges, Barriers, and Trends in Energy Flexibility." The panel, moderated by Charlotte Budde and Rita Dornmair, delved into several critical topics: - Emerging trends creating opportunities and barriers for FEVER-like results. - Key challenges and measures needed to unlock the potential of flexibility markets at a local level. - The role of interoperability, data spaces, stakeholder engagement, open source, and standardization in implementing FEVER-like solutions.  Panelists included luminaries like Mark McGranaghan (int:net project), Selene Liverani (E.DSO), Isidoros Kokos (FEVER project coordinator), and Torben Bach Pedersen (FEVER solution & FlexOffer developer). Sotiris brought insights on sustainability and consumer energy efficiency cultivated through the GECKO project. His participation not only highlighted GECKO's advancements but also opened avenues for incorporating these learnings into broader energy discussions.  This event was a significant milestone for us in disseminating GECKO project's results outside our consortium and receiving valuable feedback from industry experts. The discussions reinforced the importance of collaborative efforts in shaping a sustainable and efficient energy future.
