From Poland €60 million investment in Italy 🇮🇹 🇵🇱 A consortium of Polish companies announced a strategic #investment in the backport area of Taranto, finding in the port itself the opportunity to develop new #commercial lines on the Mediterranean. The object of the investment is the Eco Park area that is included in the ionic SEZ perimeter. The purpose is to carry on the #development of the #harbour, #logistic and #infrastructural system connected to the intermodality, storage and assembly of materials with the relative services. 💡 📢 77 percent Lithuanian residents believe that the new international railway #RailBaltica is a necessary project for Lithuania. A study revealed that among the most expected benefits of the new European railway - the revival of tourism and better connections with Europe - 59 percent expect this. 33 percent of residents believe that the new railway will increase traffic safety, another 10 percent hopes that Rail Baltica will also increase the safety of the entire country. 🇱🇹 ✅ "Connecting with Europe and returning to the railway map of the old continent is one of the main goals of Rail Baltica. This double-track train would cover 198.6 kilometers, with 11.12 kilometers of tunnels and 132.3 kilometers of viaducts. It is expected to be able to support the passage of 16 trains daily¹². Specialized Ports: The project includes the development of two ports specialized in the operation of maritime containers. One would be located in the Cupica Bay, while the other would be in the Gulf of Urabá (Puerto Antioquia). The latter is already well advanced in execution and could be ready to start operations in 2025¹. Economic and Environmental Benefits: In addition to improving connectivity and efficiency in cargo and passenger transport, this dry corridor aims to boost the growth of the Chocó department. Latvijas Investīciju un attīstības aģentūra - LIAA and #RailBaltica discuss attraction of #private #investments to the Rail Baltica Project 🤝 💬 As emphasized by LIAA Director Raivis Bremsmits, “The strategic importance of Rail Baltica has only grown in recent years, and therefore we at LIAA are ready to get involved to help attract the necessary investments for the project’s implementation. We will work closely with the Rail Baltica team to prepare an attractive offer for investors to participate in the development of the Rail Baltica infrastructure.” ☑️ During the meeting, both parties agreed to actively collaborate, regularly exchanging information to strategically approach potential investors. ☑️One of the key tasks mentioned was identifying specific stages and elements of the Rail Baltica project that could be attractive to private investments. ☑️This would provide a clear understanding of the opportunities and limitations of attracting investments. ☑️It is also necessary to determine which stages might require state budget support, as private investments may not be feasible. ☑️ It was emphasized that urgent political agreement is needed on the scope of the first stage in Latvia to continue the project’s implementation and ensure the necessary funding. “We are optimistic about LIAA’s extensive network of contacts worldwide to jointly explore private investment opportunities and ensure the project’s further development.
