Red Coalition Inc. Wishes to thank Hockey Canada for its response to our letter regarding racism in hockey in this country. However, we noted: “In 2022, Hockey Canada appointed an independent third-party to administer all Hockey Canada-related maltreatment complaints in a procedurally fair manner below national level programming. This was part of our commitment to advancing sport safety through victim-centred approaches. However, in Quebec, all maltreatment complaints in sport are under the jurisdiction of a provincially mandated independent mechanism that was introduced by its government in 2021, which is the entity that led the investigation in question.” Why does Quebec need to have its own “mechanism” to investigate acts of racism in hockey ??? The Red Coalition will therefore seek answers from Hockey Quebec for the ways in which the investigation in the Gatineau matter was conducted.

ANSWER We don't know when the announcement will be coming but to do the organizations players and parents justice it should had already been announced We will just do bulletpoints 1) system will follow Hockey Canada regarding roster spots 2) can not do multiple team tryouts or have multiple offers without declining first one Those are 2 main points we are hearing so teams need to pick the right player. Players and Parents need to pick right team. Teams with later tryouts their teams will suffer. The Monopoly called "Hockey Canada" is finally seeing how their bullying tactics are affecting the quality of the Canadian game. Unlike USA Hockey, they want to control your 8 and 9 year olds and don't let them play outside of Hockey Canada. They limit their ability to excel and play at the highest levels on a consistent basis. For example: if a 9 year old plays for Detroit LIttle Ceasars under USA Hockey on a Friday night, they are allowed to play under a different team name on Saturday and play in a high level game. Hockey Canada doesn't allow this. If you play for a Hockey Canada team, you cannot play a game or team outside of Hockey Canada. Why do they limit the abilities of our players??? They do it because they are control freaks and are only in the game for the money and not the development of our players. So many players have left or are leaving Hockey Canada. What this has done is created a divide in Canadian Hockey and the high level players on each side will not be able to compete with each other and thus, their skill development is hindered by a bunch of control freaks called Hockey Canada. The worst thng is, your tax dollars support them! Think about it!!

Interesting little analysis on field hockey just completed. Goals per game have been increasing since the 1980s in both the men’s and women’s side of the sport. But, the number of goals has been increasing faster in the men’s game than the women’s possibly as a consequence of the major rule changes implemented between the early 1990s through to 2014.  Is the push by the FIH to make the game quicker, more exciting creating an 'entertainment gap' between the two sides of the sport? Proud to share that WAIPU North America, a member of our organization (www.WAIPU.org), has filed a groundbreaking antitrust lawsuit against the National Hockey League (NHL) and the major junior hockey industry. This lawsuit exposes the systematic exploitation of teens pursuing their dream of playing in the NHL. The case targets an anticompetitive cartel comprised of the NHL, the Canadian Hockey League, the Ontario Hockey League, the Western Hockey League, the Québec Maritimes Junior Hockey League, and their member clubs. Defendants' agreements to restrain competition for these players have rendered them nothing more than the property of the major junior teams that draft them.
