🚀 Gearing Up for a Month of Milestones and Masteries! 🚀 Is it really almost Friday? Time truly flies when you’re immersed in planning and progressing! As I glance over my calendar, plotting out the month ahead, it’s clear there’s hardly a moment to spare. The coming weeks are packed with events that promise to be both exciting and enriching: • Kicking things off with The Hill Club spring-ish networking event next Thursday, where connections are made and ideas flourish. 🌱 • Followed by a night of laughter and camaraderie at Bridge Recruitment FM Comedy Night on Monday, 15th. 🎤 • And the installation of the wonderful lorraine Larman CMIOSH FBICSc as the new master of the The Worshipful Company of Environmental Cleaners on the 19th, marking a momentous occasion in our industry. 🎩 • Amidst these engagements, we’re also onboarding several new contracts, lots of new Tennant Company Floorcare machines and gearing up for our ISO NQA audit—a testament to our commitment to excellence and continuous improvement. The phenomenal performance of both our depots has exceeded my expectations, a clear reflection of the dedication and hard work our teams invest daily. Their efforts have not gone unnoticed, as evidenced by the incredible feedback from our recent Customer Satisfaction survey. Dear employers and prospective employers, Here are 5 keys to an amazing company culture that could help you retain young people or people in general: 1. Look out for your people, put them first. Perhaps a good canteen or promotion when it’s due. 2. Don’t promote toxic managers, many people cry in the bathrooms at work and pretend they are okay. 3. Make work fun. It’s dreadful to have to be a whole different person at work. Making work fun makes it easier to get things done. 4. Respect employees’ personal lives. Try not to call after hours or on weekends and have reasonable schedules. 5. Give recognition and say thank you. Give credit where it’s due. Give awards and incentives where and when they’re due. The above points are from my perspective and my personal experience and people may share the same experiences. Have you ever worked at a company where you knew you wouldn’t stay longer than a year? So. I got a promotion. 😊 This is the first promotion I have ever been given in my TEM career that spans almost 20 years. There are some reasons for that - I have, admittedly, moved around (mostly in search of career growth and knowledge) and I have been "an army of one" in most of my employments as I am now. It took my applying to an open position in another department to get the attention of those that matter to see that my current position needs some change. It also took me saying point blank "I have earned a bump up the ladder here." I didn't say I "deserve" as I don't like that word... but I have earned it with the level of work I give, the amount of money I have saved, the various tasks that I do, and how I much support the entire department (and a few others). Not only was I promoted, I created my own title and I also pretty much created my "new job" by writing up the descriptions and "preferred experience" jargon. You are now reading from the new 'Sr. Infrastructure Auditor' at Randstad USA. What does this mean? I really have no clue ... but it sounds nice, doesn't it?
