ROMATSA representatives attended the annual meeting of SESAR Deployment and Infrastructure Partnership (SDIP), the consortium appointed to perform the function of SESAR Deployment Manager (SDM). Through the coordination and support provided by SDM, already more than 40% of the #functionalities set out in the CP1 Regulation are operational bringing clear benefits: 7.2 million tonnes of CO2 and 2.3 million tonnes of #fuelsaved. ROMATSA is a member of SDIP and is proud to contribute #effectively to the #synchronised #deployment of ATM in Europe. #SDM is a successful project that has proven its viability and that is still needed to ensure the synchronised #implementation of #airtrafficmanagement modernisation in Europe. #SESARDeploymentManager #ROMATSA #SDIP #AsOne

Interesting request to tender just released by BroadEU Net Programme to develop a system to enable a Pan-European interoperable broadband system for Public Safety. The project is intended to develop mission critical mobile broadband communications testbeds , cross connect them to test cross-border trials involving at least 4 cross-connected countries/MCx systems. The estimated value (global) of the Framework Contract is EUR 2,200,000. It is specified that the estimated value for the services to be performed during the Initial Period is of EUR 1,283,333.33 EUR (HTVA) and EUR 916,666.67 during the Subsequent Period.

One of the main benefits that will arise from the development of the project is the ability to dynamically balance the #ATC capacity with the demand in a much more flexible and scalable way than today, thanks to the integration in the same platform of the service provision of multiple European #ANSPs✈🌍. This will foster their cooperation at international level, further supporting the potential ATM✈ service delegation between them. At the same time this will result in improvements on cost💰 and environmental efficiency🌱🔋 and decrease on infrastructure investment. ACI EUROPE is pleased to share that the CLEAN ATM 2 and the GREEN CNS initiatives, both prepared and coordinated by SESAR Deployment Manager (SDM), were selected as the two Air Traffic Management-related projects to receive funding in response to the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) Transport Call for proposals 2023. The two multi-stakeholder initiatives are set to receive over €140 million of EU public funding, under the CEF, the main instrument established by the European Union to support and accelerate strategic transport investments. ACI EUROPE has supported airports every step of the way, through our participation in the SDM. As a result of ACI EUROPE’s efforts to bring airports together to create multi-stakeholder applications, 12 airports will now receive over €69 million from 2024-2027 in funding against the investment of nearly €140 million. The airports are mainly involved in two projects that will cover a variety of topics all aimed at optimising the use of airspace and improving operational resilience, including the reduction of congestion, delays and unnecessary emissions through the Extended Airports Operations Plan and its connection to the network, as well as the adoption of standards, protocols and services that will further digitalise operations. With the next EU political cycle beginning in earnest, the role of EU funding cannot be understated. The twin objectives of decarbonising aviation and preserving air connectivity will require accompanying investments through appropriate EU financial instruments. As noted in our ‘Airport Industry Manifesto for the Next EU Political Cycle (2024-2029)’, ongoing EU financial support to SESAR Research & Development as well as Deployment in the next multi-annual financial EU framework is essential, particularly through CEF and Horizon. ⭐ We look forward to collaborating through these initiatives in the coming years! The World Radiocommunication Conference 2023 (WRC-23) in Dubai brought together global delegates to discuss the future of radio communications.
