Over the years I've had the privilege of engaging with young global citizens on global spaces in fields of youth on politics,SRH advocacy and leadership, little did I know the sessions I ran, the platforms I showed up on and projects I engaged in all fell in the dockets of international relations and youth diplomacy. Member, Historical Society of Nigeria Cowrywise Campus Ambassador I am a Communications Expert I am passionate about Cultural diplomacy I help International organizations reach out to their audience strategically
𝘿𝙞𝙨𝙘𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙪𝙣𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙘𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙧 𝙤𝙥𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙞𝙣 𝙝𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙨𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙞𝙚𝙨 Being a History and International Studies student afforded engagement with our world's past, involving wars, ideologies, colonialism, and the foundational stages of varied cultures. This journey provided considerable enlightenment and allowed an appreciation for the complexities and recurring motifs in history. Nevertheless, a less-discussed aspect entails the extensive career potential for historians. It is a common belief that our career paths align predominantly with teaching or employment within organizations like the UN, ECOWAS, or EU. These are undoubtedly credible and significant career options, but opportunities reach far beyond these domains. This year, participation in a diplomatic workshop organized by HEDDA's Diplomatic Career Mentorship Center (HDCMC) widened my outlook. Learning the essential qualities of an adept diplomat and ambassador from a high commissioner and examining different diplomacy types (cultural, public, etc.) was highly informative. A notable realization from this experience was the importance placed on constructing and diversifying one’s portfolio to enhance career opportunities. The historical and international studies knowledge, when combined with skills in diplomacy, public speaking, and cultural awareness, paves the way to various fields beyond traditional roles. Profound gratitude is extended to the event organizers and speakers Hope David Ayabina and for their contributions to this instructive experience, and also Amigun Deborah Omotolani for sharing such an opportunity with me To historians and fellow students: continue your exploration, learning, and expanding your horizons. Our distinctive insights hold more value now than ever before.

I am happy to announce the successful completion of my Masters in History, International Relations, and Cooperation at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto, marked by the defense of my final project: "Report of the Internship at the Permanent Representation of Portugal to the OSCE from October 2022 to April 2023 - The role of the OSCE in the field of preventive diplomacy: the case of ethnic minorities." This academic journey has been an incredible opportunity to learn about different historical contexts, international dynamics, and the intricacies of cooperation. The internship at the Permanent Representation of Portugal to the OSCE provided a unique hands-on experience that allowed me to delve into the practical aspects of diplomacy. The focus of my final project on the role of the OSCE in addressing the challenges faced by ethnic minorities is a reflection of the organization's commitment to fostering stability, peace, and inclusivity on the global stage. Specifically, my research delves into the work of the OSCE with Russian and Russophone national minorities in Latvia, as well as Russian, Russophone minorities, and Crimean Tatars in Ukraine, especially focusing on the aftermath of the fall of the Soviet Union. I specifically examined the role of the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities and OSCE field missions in Latvia and Ukraine during this period. As I embark on the next chapter of my professional journey, I am excited to apply the skills and insights acquired during my master's program and internship. I’ll keep working towards making a positive impact in the realm of international relations! #MastersDegree #History #InternationalRelations #Cooperation #PreventiveDiplomacy #OSCE #EthnicMinorities #Latvia #Ukraine 🌐📜🎓
