With heart attacks on the rise, it is important to learn how to operate an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). You can do this by getting an AED Certification, with courses offered throughout the Bay Area. Quick actions can save lives during a cardiac arrest. These are the AED steps you should follow for a non-breathing individual aged 8 (at least 55 lbs) and older. 1. Ask a bystander to immediately call 911 for help. 2. Turn on the AED and follow the prompts. 3. Remove clothing covering the chest, and place one pad on the lower left side of the chest and the other pad on the upper right side of the chest. 4. Make sure no one is touching the individual, and let the AED analyze the individual's heart rhythm. 5. Push the "shock" button if the AED determines one is needed. 6. Continue with CPR until first responders arrive. #CardiacArrest #HeartAttack #AED #CommunityHospital #Hospital #Healthcare
