It's crucial that all parents and families know the signs of group B Strep infection. Early diagnosis and treatment saves lives! Late-onset group B Strep infection affects babies aged 7 days - 3 months old. Testing for group B Strep in pregnancy and antibiotics in labour WILL NOT reduce the risk. If you suspect your baby has late-onset group B Strep infection you must URGENTLY contact your midwife or doctor and mention group B Strep.
